This is a wild song to show your dad 😭

"only the devil responded cause god wasnt there" always gives me chills

There's always a point when people are listening to this song for the first time and they stop bobbing their head once the disturbing verses begin. Your Dad did exactly that 😂

Immortal Technique may not be for everyone but his talent is immeasurable.

The occasional glances towards his dad to make sure he was okay is probably the most heartwarming part of this reaction.

Immortal recently did an interview where he said that this story is true. He was not involved, and that the mother figure in the song, in real life, could have been a sister, or daughter or cousin, etc. Hood stories tend to evolve as they move through the community, is how he put It. But he did say that he can show the building where this happened and that the community started killing the men involved in this situation because what they did was so atrocious..and eluded to the fact that It was somebody underaged who got raped..and that’s why the community took matters into their own hands after the incident.

This is one of those songs you can listen to once but will follow you forever.
  • @cap10zomb
He was staring into the eyes of his own mother. I got literally goosebumps from that

This has to be the darkest song I've ever heard. I remember feeling sick after I first heard this back in the 2000's and it still hits hard even though I know what's coming. Nonetheless, an absolute classic. Technique is a master storyteller here.

You Never Know- Immortal Technique is now a must for your dad to listen to just to see what your dad’s thoughts on an actual personal story of Immortal Technique are

“Vivid” really is the best description for this song. Probably the only song I’ve heard in my life where I have photographic scenes drilled into my head for every line. The artist forces you to be sucked into the story.

The connection between the girl coming home late at night. And Billy’s mother who worked late nights to support him as a child. Now the struggle his mom went through was for nothing. I don’t think there’s a word to probably describe it. But it’s more impressive than any wordplay in hip hops history.

My dad never really interacted with me about my music..in a way I feel like I live through this kid, haha.

i first heard this song as a kid. i was so shocked. you only need one listen. it stuck with me for the rest of my life. this is one of the best storytelling songs of all time imo. all hip hop fans know it. it's not actually a true story. immortal technique said it's not a true story. the song is about crime and violence within your own community that will ultimately lead to the demise of yourself and hurt the ones you love and like you said, it speaks on how black and latinx/latina women are the most disrespected and abused within their own community. he's preaching that we should treat our people better.

Law enforcement actually interviewed him after this song because of the “story being true” but immortal didn’t do it. This was a story his cellmate told him when he was in prison. The “I was there with billy…” part is the cellmate wrapping up the story he told IT.

"your day might not be good after this" is the best advice ever for first listen of this song.
  • 29 now and this song still gives me the chills like it did when I was 13
  • @desiicakes
This song literally gives me chills every time I hear it. It kinda hits a sensitive spot which makes me feel uncomfortable but that’s the realism and pure emotion from this song. Immortal technique knew what he was doing with this one. Respect.

This song is so powerful and really needs to be talked about in schools and discussed. Its a master piece. It’s not a cool song. It’s not a hype song. It’s not a happy, feel touched song. It’s a song much like a epic tragedy, it’s well written. A twist you don’t see comin and to rap a complete story and move a person the way this track does in 4 mins; is talent. Movies take 2 hours, books take 100s of pages. Yet Tech does it in minutes and these characters truly do punch you in the gut when ya hear it. Then when ya hear the twist you jaw drops.
