  • This is such a beautiful snapshot of the human experience. Made me tear up seeing your dad tear up. This is what music is supposed to represent emotions and feelings that cross generations and cultures.

My son used to play this for me … he passed away at 18 from cancer in October of 2021. Every time I hear this I cry my eyes out it’s perfect ! Tupac was phenomenal ! ❤️❤️❤️RIP Shad ❣️❣️❣️🕊🤍🤍🤍

A man who gets emotional in front of his son and a strong father with a big heart, your father is my hero ❤

Almost 3 decades and this song still puts a tear to my eyes. RIP 2Pac.

No BS, this is exactly what Pac wanted for his music. To not just heard but felt and appreciated by anyone and everyone

Can't believe it's been almost 30 years since Pac left us. The 90s still feel like 10 years ago for me.
  • I lost my mom she didn’t have any crack addictions but she was an alcoholic up until the last year of her life she was alcohol free and she spent it with me!! You still my black queen mama, YOU ARE APPRECIATED!😢
  • My oldest son played this son for me when I came home for rehab in 1995. October 5, I will be 30 years clean and sober. I love Tupac music he's a poetic genius.

Tupac was a poet, lyricist, activist, and talented actor ♥️

Your dad is awesome. I'm 41 and and an avid old school hip hop fan. It's crazy that we didn't understand what greatness we had just coming out on the radio day after day. The golden era. Man I miss it. I can't find anything new that hits like the old school. It's refreshing to see younger people listening to Tupac.

Tupac was far beyond his time and will forever be missed in life and music

My son played this for me all the time! He was murdered 6 years ago at the age of 23! This song will ALWAYS be very personal to me. Rest in Paradise Austin 🕊️ It’s beautiful to see the relationship you have with your Dad! This is my first video I’ve seen of you and him! New sub here! One day looking back these memories will mean EVERYTHING to you!

Tupac's mother has a great story also. She was a Black Panther who defended herself against government charges and won. Though she had her struggles, she was an amazing woman. RIP.

In 2009, the song was added to the National Recording Registry in the Library of Congress, who deemed it a work that is "culturally, historically, or aesthetically important, and/or inform or reflect life in the United States."[3] In a press release, the organization called the song "a moving and eloquent homage to both the murdered rapper's own mother and all mothers struggling to maintain a family in the face of addiction, poverty and societal indifference."

My brother put Dear Mama on a mixtape for my mother when he was a teenager. It 100% perfectly represented our childhood. He is 12 years older than me and we have different fathers. My mother had an addiction problem with heroin, which eventually took her life. It's lovely to share the sentiment of this song with you and your father. This song represents so much to so many people.
  • What a touching dynamic, Father and Son bonding over music. And Rap which is outside of Dad’s repertoire yet he receives it with an open heart!♥️
