    for home cooks, if you keep the onion attached to the root on either side it will not bleed as badly, reducing tears

  • This may sound crazy and it certainly looks weird, but I've mastered the "onions tears '" !!!! Yep i just wear my pool goggles when I cut my onions and I never shed a tear.It works perfect ! ......your welome ! 😄
  • For those who are home cooks Or if you're just cooking If possible While you're prepping your food, put your onions in the refrigerator At least 20 to 25 minutes Beforehand You may be able to go a little bit less After working in kitchens And cutting up those Eye burners It really helps 🎉❤

  • Handy video but I'd challenge your instruction to cut off the root end when dicing. Based on my own experience as well (as watching several other YouTube Chefs) it really helps keeping it on to stop the onion bleeding (helping with crying) as well as keeping it much more stable while you do you horizontal slices before dicing

    To prevent tears, put the onions in cold ice water for a few minutes before chopping, and/or make sure your knife is very sharp to prevent the juices from extracting. Orrrr you can also put on goggles😂😁it sounds silly but it works👌🏽

Cut the end of an onion, the root end and put it on your head while chopping onions this will eliminate tears seriously just try it

    If you cut the onions right under the stove vent while it’s turned on, the fumes go right up and not into your eyes! It works for me!! Less tears or no tears
