George Salazar, the Drama Desk-nominated actor known for Be More Chill, Lightning Thief, Godspell, and tick tick BOOM, joins with Joe Iconis, the Larson Award-winning musical theatre writer known for Be More Chill, Broadway Bounty Hunter, The Black Suits, and his songs for Smash… for a recording of their intimate, yet mind-melding, concert, as performed at Feinstein’s/54 Below.

Get a chance to hear George share showstoppers he has originated on stage, songs he’d never get to sing, brand new material from upcoming musicals, and more. It's a hot recording of a rock-and-roll evening of hilarious characters, soaring vocals, and the unstoppable energy of two artists on the rise…

  • “I’d stay if I could, but the universe won’t let me. So please be good, and don’t you forget me.” I’m fine. Definitely.

As a parent slowly dying of multiple organ failure, I listen to this song and think about my wife and wonderful daughter and hoping they feel these words as they speak so well to how it feels...
  • UMMMMMMMM???? WHERE DO I BEGIN? EVERYTIME HE SAYS “Ever” IT SOUNDS HEAVENLY. HE IS AN ANGEL YOU CANT CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE HE MUST BE PROTECTED. AND ARE THOS TEARS I SEE?? IM IN PAINNNN

One thing I love about this album is how raw is. Just two guys doing what they love in a field where they’ve been blessed with immense talent. Raw and not overproduced. This is more of what the world needs.

Whenever I listen to this song all I think is Michael writing a suicide note after he realizes he has no one left cause jeremy was his only friend and he left him and im crying now
  • @ElexisStacy
How can he put so much emotion into his voice???????????????
  • @jocicamacho6140
George Salazar's voice is so beautiful, it's amazing how he can express so much emotion but have so much control over his singing. Also, Joe Iconis is just pure piano goals, he inspires me so much. They're both just amazing, I downloaded the album as soon as it came out.

I sang this to my friends and peers on our last day of Middle school since I'm moving to a foreign country for high school. It was really emotional, I cracked a lot during during the performance, because I knew these people since we were all 3 years old. It was hard to say goodbye, and I got hugged very tightly by the girls and emotional high fives from the guys. Listening to this again, I'm crying harder than I was before, yet I thank George Salzar and Joe Iconis for making that goodbye so much more beautiful.

Honestly. How could anyone have the willpower to dislike this. They must have turned their phone upside down so they could like it a second time
  • @Soudavanahhh
Honestly, when he goes "No you can't come" I always feel like he's about to break into Micheal in the Bathroom. "No you can't come (in)" Good lord, it's a conspiracy. All songs George Salazar sings are connected. All songs George Salazar sings are great

The first time I heard this song was about three years ago. One of my childhood friends had passed away about a few months prior and my mental health was really bad to begin with but her death made it worse. When I heard this song the only memory I have is curling into a ball and crying at the climax. I still tear up when I listen to it. This album and musical theatre in general really helped me when everyone else forgot about my friend.
  • @whoresoup9001
Who's here after bmc closed and they sang this song ↓ I cried button
  • George sounds like an angel, an actual angel edit: nvm I take that back he is an angel
  • The first part sounds like a parent leaving their child at college and the last part after the "no you can't come with me" sounds like a parent dying. Especially the "I'd stay if I could, but the universe won't let me. So please, be good. Don't you forget me" part.
  • I found this song on Spotify, so I added it to the wrong playlist, the one I use for work and it came on while I was cooking a pizza. I was just standing there sobbing while I put pepperoni on a pizza and my coworkers didn't know what to do with me. Needless to say, I made sure to change the playlist it was on so it didn't happen again.
