  • Heya! I'm a construction worker and i work with heavy machinery on a regular basis. That excavator's 'fixed joint' is actually fully accurate! Excavators don't have a joint there, but they do have an angle on the arm at that point to make it easier to dig with. Excavators will typically only have 3 joints; The 'shoulder' (base), 'Elbow' (middle piston) and 'Knuckle'/bucket. Though some excavators do have additional ones. Smaller ones will have a vertical swivel at the shoulder that allows the arm to move side to side, some have an extension at the second joint like some rubber-tire backhoes do, and occasionally you'll find excavators outfitted with a crab claw, which is this weird metal claw part that goes over top the bucket with its own piston that they use to grab stuff with.
  • the construction subtheme of City always felt so universally useful to me. not only are they solid sets, they're the perfect thing to display with WIP builds
  • @Lego_Chewbacca
I don't even like city that much, but there's just something so neat about construction vehicles that they always manage to catch my eye.
  • @roddlez
I love these sets in the warmer yellow color
  • @Nobody-ue5qs
Fun fact: The crane appears to be a almost 1:1 recreation of a typical oversized Liebherr mobile crane, spider stabilizers rigid chassis and all
  • @BDD_Builds
These both feel like actual minifigure scaled construction vehicles and I love it! As charming as the older construction sets are, I enjoy more realism as well.

Having your adorable gecko posing with the sets ought to be an every episode kind of thing. I need more of the baby!
  • @zerospice7173
very surprised there was no comparison to Mobile Crane 60324, it's like the big brother of it.
  • @Evan-np5uv
Hopefully they continue this theme with a new dump truck, front loader, and cement mixer truck

"It backed into a boulder and the boulder fell over. It was awesome." This is my absolute favorite part of the review
  • Only OG lego construction builders will remember the rest of the phrase of this line..... A MAN HAS FALLEN IN T-

Having both of these sets and spending my childhood playing with them, it's so great to see kids today finally have the same opportunity with sets that look as amazing as this. The play features have been retained and upgraded and the price seems fair as well. Love to see it

I appreciate the slightly longer review & comparison video. 14 minutes isn’t too long at all, I’d love to see more videos like this!

I got that old mobile crane in 2017 at a flea market in germany for 35€, qround 90%complete. I was like ten at the time and didnt know abt bricklink and didnt know whqt gem i had found. Was definitely a big part of my childhood, a set older than me.
  • @Darnok5555
That 2005 excavator was my first ever lego set🥹
  • @precascer8221
The construction City theme always makes me nostalgic for that browser game they had, where you had to move different vehicles to their areas, like an ambulance to the hospital, an excavator to the construction site, etc. It'd be interesting to see this sort of division within the City sets nowadays, specially with this huge step up in their engineering.

Seeing Cheesy so excited for these new construction sets is exactly how I felt when I saw Lego make a new Space sub theme for City back in January. I grew up with Galaxy Squad & Space Police 3 so it was really nice to see Lego make a new space sub theme after 10 years, even if it was branded as City.
  • @CharzBoi
The Excavator is such a great set. I love just how accurate it is, and I'm incredibly tempted to buy it for my birthday this year. We'll have to see if I ultimately decide on that, but currently I think I will.
  • @mikeynewPFF
glad i'm not the only one who loves the new sets. Finally some semi-realistic lego City sets
  • @lumpyize
I remember getting th eXXL crane on my birthday from parents. Being 8 yo in Poland getting a set like this in 2005 was a dream. Before i didnt even knew such set existed. That said is till keep it somewhere to date and i love it. Cool little this is that XXL has a cargo space behind cabin to fit all those cones and barrier. Amazing set ot say the least. Created lot of memories from childhood Dont forget the steamroller, the cheapest set from Construction line this year
