  • just dont place a thousand of them in a tight space, it might crash reality
  • @jg-7780
I'd love just 30 minutes of minimally edited footage of that minecart just doing its thing
  • @Nyerguds
Small nuance: that "25 mph" is the maximum speed of a Minecraft minecart on a downward slope.
  • @integza
I always love how Damien is underwhelmed by everything
  • Keep in mind this is just him holding W. Imagine how fast it would be if it were on powered rails.
  • the fact that this man didn't decide to give up when his mind told him that this could be to hard is incredible.keep up the good work joel! hope to see more of these types of videos!
  • 4:16 you could add some brushes right in front of minecart's front wheels to prevent sticks and other trash from derailing. Your traveling between bioms would be safer.
  • At 9:20 this is a irl phenomenon called ‘hunting oscillation’. And in reference with your case. The flanges of the brake drums are hitting the track at higher speeds making the ride quality seem more unstable. The best way to eliminate this is to change the wheel profile of the brake drum to be more conical in nature while tuning the flange-track gap on your set. At high speeds the hunting oscillations become too much for the train and the constant bouncing of the flanges causes sufficient friction in balance with the torque of the motor which gives you this top speed of 26mph. There are some cases where hunting oscillation can derail the train as the repeated bouncing can simply throw your wheels of the track. This also happens with regular trains passenger, freight, tankers, etc. Upvote to get @Joel Creates to see this to possibly help his design :) More information can be found here (there are 2 useful gifs at the start to demonstrate the effect): https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hunting_oscillation
  • Now this, this is exactly what I love to see on Youtube! Just wholesome humans doing wholesome human things, trying out a fun idea, having fun in the meantime, getting an awesome result. This was so enjoyable to watch :)
  • @Fasteroid
The stick on the tracks causing the minecart to derail was so funny, it's just like that old bug from 1.4 where minecarts collided with dropped item stacks on the tracks :)
  • the back-and forth bouncing at higher speeds is caused by the angle of the train wheels. The angle is necessary to go around corners properly, but the greater the angle, the more it tends to oscillate at higher speeds. A flatter wheel is better at higher speeds, but can't turn as sharp of a corner.
  • The shaking was due to hunting oscillation. This is the same effect that happens on the DLR in London. To reduce this you could add yaw dampers and increase the weight of the vehicle
  • @Weisz
This is so fire dude!! Mad props

7:21 I didn't know real minecraft sized spiders existed. I would literally die if I saw one of these anywhere
  • That bit at the end literally made me cry and now I feel like I can start crazy projects and push through my general anxiety disorder I haven't lived the way I'd like to due to it and it's so hard to push through thank you so much
