I'm a diehard Tacoma owner; however, the announcement of a 4 cyl and turbo replacing the tried and true V6 made me stop as 2023.
  • @bbokdoong
Toyotas were reliable because they kept improving and perfecting existing products instead of completely changing chassis, engine and transmission.
  • @mikek8089
Stop with all of this high tech crap and build a simple truck!!
  • @AnhH88
Ha, my used 2001 Tacoma is a 5lugs 2.4L 4cyl engine. No stupid turbo. I bet it will outlast the new hybrid turbo 4cyl even with 175k miles in the clock. And I got it for 4500 bucks.

Toyotas growths and quality don’t walk in parallel. Greed and lower quality do.
  • Used to be reliable they’re not as reliable as they used to be. That’s why you got this problem.
  • @exucaviera9084
Seems like they deliberately killed their own brand. Very strange
  • And $50K for a 4 cylinders truck. A 4 cylinder engine uses less parts. It must be cheaper because it is made in Mexico where labor is 75% less than the USA.
  • @dee151
Toyota was NEVER forced to make a 4cyclinder , they went ahead on there own and made this choice, I hate YouTube lies 👎
  • @joesteele3159
I'm sick of hearing the words "long overdue " when it comes to a tried and true bullet proof product.
  • @benchampion4086
My 2022 Tacoma has had an engine failure since six months after we got the truck and none of the technicians can find anything wrong with it.
  • TOYOTA: New Tacoma = FAIL (Recalls) New Tundra = FAIL (Recalls galore) New Lexus = FAIL (Catastrophic engine failure) New V35A V6 = Absolute FAIL (Recalled: Catastrophic engine failures) New BEVs = FAIL, FAIL, FAIL It's ALL downhill from here....

Stop building shit in Mexico and charging 17% more.

2008 Toy/Tacoma/TURD/6 cylinder/4x4... 90,000 miles the itty bitty rear end bearing went out. When I called the rear end builder and told him I had a toy tacoma, he cut in and said, "I bet it has 90,000 miles on it. I get a whole bunch of 2nd Gen Tacomas who's rear end bearings are going out at 90,000." The gen 1's rear end is slightly smaller than the gen 2. I found a shard of metal in the front diff. Pulling that out to be rebuilt before the snow fall this winter. For the first 85,000 miles, this vehicle was only 4x4'd mabe twice a year for very short periods in California. Then there's the anemic little rack-n-pinion. It's going out a too. You have to replace the whole unit. $1,700.00 + labor.

Good, they gave people what they didn't want and overcharged 20%+

I love my 2003 2.7 4X4 I bought it new and zero problems.

The biggest bad decision was to assemble them in Mexico, then sales went down, then forced to make that change, cutting the 3rd Gen production by 2 years. Now sales where better last year then this year. So they did it to them selves, good luck Toyota
