  • I’ll never forget that South Park episode about Russell Crowe where he fights the whole world
  • This line still gives me chills! “My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions and loyal servant to the TRUE emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.”

I think Joe came a little in his pants when Russell uttered the words "Gobekli Tepi"

His voice...no matter what he speaks about, it sounds so good. In the fringes, the Gladiator is still there.

It’s crazy! I was talking with my wife about this interview. We both love Russell crow as an actor! I’m/ we are definitely not fans of Hollywood and its ilk! But there are some people that are just like real people…good folks! I’ve never seen Russell in this kind of atmosphere and being just a regular dude!! I showed my wife and this conversation has shown us why Russell is one of our favorite actors!! Very cool!! I’m happy to have seen this side of him! Thank you Joe! Thank you Russell!!

Crowe's voice has the most soothing timbre ever.
  • To Russel Crowe, thank you for reminding me of the wonderous miracles and subtle beautiful moments in life that connect us all together for the good. I'm very sick with stage 5 kidney failure and heart failure at 45. But the story of taking your mother and children to Rome, connecting you all to your father brought tears to my eyes and a warmth to my heart i had almost fogotten still existed. Thank you Danny Boy.🙏 ,Eric (fan and regular guy)

Not many guests have me staring at the interview for three hours. Russell is one of them.

Our band played occasionally at Russell's venue in the 80s. One night he asked if we wanted some advice. We said yes and he took us out the back and basically said "lose the keyboards" lol. We did, changed our name to Garageland and became a pretty successful New Zealand band. Thanks Russ!

As a guy who's worked cattle for decades, that story about the calfs, I get it. Treat your animals the best you can, and it's a very rewarding experience
  • @merkantilaify
I love the way Joe is talking to him, with a childish excitement and Joe is constantly trying to respect him, treat him, and invite him into his house and stuff. I love both of them
  • Cracked me up when Joe mentioned also meeting Dennis Quaid... when Russell was the one with Quaid's ex Meg Ryan during their divorce. Crowe's pause shows he noted it too. 😂

"I learned a lot from him, but I didn't learn the things he was trying to teach me." That is a great line.

Russel Crowe is a cool guy. Did over 3 hours and still could have kept going. Didn't let it get awkward or weird. Just a cool guy. Definitely earned my respect.

The simple fact alone of how Russell treats his animals is proof is a wonderful, kind human being. I met him several times when I worked in Sydney at a high end hotel back in the early 2000's. The interactions I had with him were always good and he truly is a stand up bloke. Great interview! Go Bunnies 🐰

A girlfriend and her friend met him at a bistro in Amsterdam in the early 2000s, he sat down next to them and talked to them for a while... They pretended not to know who he was... At the end of the conversation, he thanked them for pretending to not know who he was ... They giggled ....she said he was quite lovely...
  • "Jamie pull that up. Short face grizzly bear fighting a gladiator during the Roman Empire era."
  • I met this man in real life here in Bernalillo, New Mexico @ the Tamaya hotel we smoked a cig together. No selphie, no bugging him, and no autograph. When we were done talking, he thanked me for treating him like a human and not telling everyone he was there. Stand-up, good man. I dont usually respect actors. I do Russell

Great interview. I cried at the story about Mr Crowe's trip to Italy with his Mother and family after his Father had passed and in an unexpected moment hearing the song "Danny Boy" which had been sung at the funeral. The Irish in me knows what a powerful moment that would have been. Divine intervention indeed. Thank you
