This SCP Foundation wiki reading is about SCP 2480 "An Unfinished Ritual", which appears to be centered around Bodfel Manor, home of the late Cornelius P. Bodfel III (b. 1866 - d. 1952) - millionaire industrialist with an acute interest in the occult. Prior to his death, Bodfel was the leader of a secret society known as Adytum's Wake. Dismissed by the Foundation in 1932 as simply being a "decadent upper-class social club", their anomalous capabilities were not recognized until the November 28, 1952 incident.

  • "The blind God" and "Archon of..." were references to Yaldobaoth. I'm honestly taken aback by how well researched Nälkä lore is.
  • @3fan123
Sure when he walks into town high off his ass on DMT it's "science" and "foundation business" but when I do I just get arrested.
  • "Man was delirious by the end. Said the town had a "god-shaped hole" in it. Couldn't get him to elaborate." Holy shit! This might just be one of the best SCP's i've ever seen, or at least one the best you've read on this channel. Thank you for bringing it to my attention Steve, I wish I'd watched it sooner but I've not frequented your channel for an indefensible amount of time. There were so many layers of complexity at work between the containment procedures/addendums of the article itself, the MTF logs, the surreal testimony of Dr. Narváez, and all culminating in this paradigm shifting "Sitra Achra" project waging war with reality usurping forces. These longer articles really emphasize the ever-spiralling infinitely-fractal hierarchy of the Foundation, implying a relationship that goes beyond it being a simple human organization and actually being one perceivable manifestation of a much vaster cosmic vanguard against unimaginable chaos. P.S. Just out of mild curiosity, was there a reason you omitted the footnotes in this reading Steve? To be fair, there was a lot of them!

An anomaly you can only see if high on DMT? Time to call in Special Agent Joe Rogan!

It's kinda like Dunwich Horror and Shadow over Innsmouth had a baby.
  • @houndoftexas5723
this last bit sounds like the guardsman primer from warhammer, where they say things like "the enemy is weak and frail" and other things like that so they could try to boost morale.

I love SCP lore, I really wish it was more popular though, no one I know besides me into it. I bet you could make a sweet table top game out of this stuff too.

Seems like someone needed some scp-999

If we just air dropped Justin Beiber into their camp, I bet they'd retreat from our reality.

This is a good one, but maybe it's just me but this seems almost like a mishmash of various HP Lovecraft stories. the town itself is reminiscent of Shadow over innsmouth, the shaman and the invisible spirits remind me of From Beyond, and Sarcik cult is reminiscent of many Great Old Ones cults.

Damn. that was an awesome one. I love these story rich and ongoing scp files. Good job!
  • @fabu4792

"A coastal and heavily forested town with just over nine thousand residents."
