All of the OSHA authorized training sites and the OSHA main site itself say that you need OSHA 10 if you'll be working in an OSHA regulated site and only need OSHA 30 if you will be in a higher position like supervisor, site manager, foreman, safety manager, etc. Basically, if you're not the boss, just get OSHA 10 if that's what your employer may require. Personal opinion though, since the OSHA 30 covers the 10 hr course and then goes more in depth, AND the OSHA 10 can not count toward OSHA 30 if you get the 10 first, I figure I would spend the little extra now (because I am already employed under MSHA but looking for a new job in construction) to get OSHA 30 right off the bat. I feel it's better to have it and not need it (since the cards never expire) than need it and not have it (because you'll have to pay the full 30 hr fee and time since 10 doesn't count if you'll need it in the future). It also shows potential employers you are EXTREMELY SERIOUS about safety and have the initiative to go the extra mile to be trained in the 30 hr course. Also, you have up to 6 months to complete the course so you don't have to burn yourself out in 4 days of safety slides and info. And yeah, for OSHA 30 it's a minimum of 4 days at a maximum of 7.5 hrs per day, OSHA 10 is a minimum of 2 days anyway since the same 7.5 hr max rule applies. You also get 3 tries to pass the final, just in case you're not so good at taking tests.

Does the union care or do any background check? Just curious, do they care for any criminal background?

Hi Ruben, I'm taking the Reading and Math exam for Local 731. Is there any way I should prepare for it, or do you have any tips? Thanks so much for your help and videos. 🙏

This video is old. If you don't have an OSHA 30 you can't work in NYC. Now by Sept. 1st you need an additional 10hrs of SST training.

SALUDOSSSSS.....
