"I cant believe her! even though we're glad that we're back here again, she lied to us the whole time and made us suffer!" he said. "you know, the next time I see her, I'm going to make sure she doesnt see the living daylights ever again, right, Danielle?" no response. it was at that moment that jason sees both girls standing there motionless, as they noticed a letter on the dining table. "monica? danielle? what are you two standing there for...?" he said. "jason, I think we should hold off your idea first..." monica said, as she goes over to pick up the letter on the table. "there's a letter on the table, and... if I have to guess... mom probably left it here while we're away." "I suspect mom wants us to read it, so that's why it's left here." danielle says, as she comes towards monica. During that time, she fears that if she told the truth of her health condition it would make her kids heartbroken, thus she decided to keep it disclosed as she didnt want them to find out. At the same time, she also feared about what would happen if she's gone, as thinking about the fact that her kids would see her as a living ATM even after her death makes her worry more about their futures. thus, she decided to use this way to help them realize the value of hard work, for even though she has less time left to spend with them, at least she'll be proud that she has used that last remaining time to help their kids make them understand that they can make something from nothing even after her inevitable death. after reading the note, the kids were shocked. Helen was right all along. The kids were so caught up with the rich lifestyle that they didnt realize the true value of hard work... and Helen's secret. "she's right... we were wrong to yell at her... what have we done?" jason says, as he starts to break down in tears, after knowing about the revelation. many hours later, jason decided to call helen to say sorry, but to no avail, as everytime he does so, it came back with a voicemail. eventually, he gave up, and went to bed, all while sobbing and recosidering about his mean actions. the same, can also be said for the other 2 kids, who, just like jason, gave up trying to call helen and just went to bed, all while being saddened by their mean actions on their mom. (scene then continues in 28 : 41)
