The definition of pine used here is not the tree, but the verb meaning to “suffer a mental and physical decline, especially because of a broken heart.” The lyrics mainly suggest the idea that missing someone — pining — can be a physical pain much like hunger."

for anyone wondering, the background vocals at the end are singing 'une immense espérance a traversé la terre, une immense espérance a traversé ma peur' which means 'A great hope has crossed the earth , A great hope has crossed my fear'. it's a quote from Alfred de Musset’s poem L'espoir en Dieu (Hope in God), it's a really nice poem, i recommend reading it

Such a good song, really made the Light No Fire game trailer shine. Absolutely hyped for this game, and so happy to have found a new favorite artist!

"You Never truly defeat your inner Demons, you only learn to live among them" The arrows symbolize the pains and injuries, some hurt him, others don't, but no matter what, he keeps going. In the beginning he has places to hide behind the trees, but as he grows, he leaves the forest to enter the grassland, leaving him without cover. That's where he gets most of his wounds. He ultimately choses to stop running and face his fears. He accepts his fate, surrenders all of itself, and stands up tall, making him invincible. The arrows of fire symbolize the rebirth and purification (by the fire). The end is a new beginning... (Notice that you never see the inner Demons (the archers), they don't have a personification.) A Masterpiece

This reminds me of the story of Chiron. The half mortal, half immortal centaur (Saggitarius) who gets wounded and his mortal side feels the pain but his immortal side won't allow him to die. Eventually he accepts the pain and requests that Zeus allow him to become fully mortal and just die. Moved, Zeus turns him fully immortal instead. Zeus here is represented by the physical laws of science and chemistry: arrows and fire. On his quest for a cure before he accepts his predicament, Chiron heals many others. This is represented by us the watchers of the video, and our relationship to the man on the screen helping us process pain of some kind by providing catharsis. The fire represents either death or immortality.

So....The New Hunger Games trailer looks great.
  • TO UNDERSTAND THIS VIDEO READ THIS QUOTE: ‘Whom the gods love, die young’ was said of yore, And many deaths do they escape by this: The death of friends and that which slays even more, The death of friendship, love, youth, all that is, Except mere breath. And since the silent shore Awaits at last even those whom longest miss The old archer’s shafts, perhaps the early grave, Which men weep over, may be meant to save.

Welcome to everyone who discovered Alt-J after the Light No Fire trailer!
  • This is what I felt surviving a mental illness. Manic depression from a brain injury. Every emotional blow was ten times the emotions it should have been and I felt like I was constantly wounded. I was always pouring compassion into others while I tried healing my incredible pain. My heartaches created constant sufferings, from others who betrayed or tried to hurt me and childhood. I would cry for hours regularly and then I made it all stop. You feel very triumphant when you heal something that severe. Like a king or a great warrior pulling yourself through every devastating experience. Every arrow a emotional wound aimed to break you down. But you keep running to survive to be strong to give your soul strength. To end the suffering. Until you're not afraid of death and rebirth anymore. You're not afraid of it. You have conquered the suffering. The arrows don't scare you and you're willing to feel them through and you won't let them take your soul. You'll go down by your own strength not any others. In other words no one gets to take you down only you. Therefore you are victorious. You'll fight until the end and you'll reach release on your own terms.
