President Biden's decision to end his reelection campaign leads to questions about election law and the ability for the Democratic Party's nominee to appear on ballots in all 50 states. David Becker, executive director of the Center for Election Innovation and Research, joined CBS News to talk about that.

  • Anytime CBS , NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC and Fox call someone an expert they are lying to you.
  • @Dobie_ByTor
They even cheat their own…again! Snakes eating themselves.

Weren’t you guys saying for the last 4 years “Biden is going to save America”? But now you want him to drop out?
  • Why have primary elections then?? Seems kinda pointless if they can pick their candidate later at the convention.
  • @O.G.Dittzx
I’d hate to be Biden when he finds out he quit.
  • @donskiver
According to this guy's logic, then why bother having a primary in the first place?
  • @wrm3016
Elitists democrats: we do not care that we just disenfranchised all the voters in the primary... we just want our power over fairness and the welfare of the country, that's all!!! nuff said!
  • @timmy4703
whats the point of a primary then lol they just told us our vote doesnt matter at all it all comes down to what does the party want not the people
  • Too infirm and senile to run for president but fully capable as president to handle nuclear weapons and decide on war? The media is crazy for not calling for resignation.

Not going to vote for her. Nope nope never nope never ever will I vote for her never nope
  • In my 70 years of life I have not heard the word, "unprecedented" as much as I have since Trump announced his candidacy in 2015. We are definitely not living in "normal" times.
  • First lets recognize Nora, he didn't drop out. The media wouldn't stop talking about how he should drop out.
  • David: What about all of those people that voted for Joe? You mean to tell me they are fine without having a voice in the election.

As I understand it, the Dems need to nominate someone by the first week of August if they want to be on the ballot in Ohio. That's well ahead of the DNC later in the month. That doesn't give them much time. As Ohio is traditionally a Red state that may not matter. But it would be better if they had someone on the ballot in Ohio just the same. What a mess they've made of this.

It's not the ballots it's the money.
