Vice President Kamala Harris spoke to reporters Thursday after meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Harris condemned Hamas' Oct. 7 attack and called for an end to the war in Gaza, citing the humanitarian toll. "We cannot look away in the face of these tragedies, we cannot allow ourselves to become numb to the suffering, and I will not be silent," Harris said.

Finally hearing our high ranking politicians speak on the horrors people in Gaza are facing and not just Israel is so refreshing and gives me hope.
  • @Kavorka83
I'm betting on Netanyahu ignoring the American request once again.

Israeli president said there's no uninvolved civilians in Gaza Israeli finance minister said that returning the hostages is not the priority Israeli prime minister said in 2019 that funding hamas is his strategy It was never about eliminating hamas nor returning the hostages it's just political survival,  land grab and meaningless revenge
  • @vidaworksout
Sounded very presidential! And very refreshing for a politician to focus on the suffering of innocent people but also stating we Americans want our hostages back too and we can’t rely solely on Israel to do that.
  • Clear and concise. I appreciate the fact that she addressed both sides.
  • Very good straight to the point address regarding BOTH sides of the conflict. It shouldn’t just be all about Israel, it should be about the Palestinians also, cause let’s face it, they are suffering immensely also.

I was very worried about how she would handle this. She couldn’t have handled it more perfectly. I feel so relieved.

It's been a political circus for so long so refreshing to clearly hear a cease fire deal. Good Job!

Brilliant speech. Kamala is even better when serious. Very serious. I agree 100%. She doesn't talk down. She is clear and confident that this will be accomplished. Bravo!

Thank you for promoting a cease fire and two state solution. We need to see this done...the children are starving to death.
  • @tbec3011
VP Harris nailed it. Yes, it is time to get this deal done.

A state that is based on religion is called a THEOCRACY, not a democracy. Israel is a theocracy like Iran.
  • @atniem684
She addressed BOTH sides to this. The conflict overall is HORRIFIC. But she is not picking one side or the other. She is clearly stating that both sides have suffered and that there IS a solution if BOTH sides can agree to it.
  • @ricosolomon
Nice plan, but it is essential that the Palestinians get their own State and ability to govern themselves and Netanyahu and his cabinet are tried for the War Crimes and atrocities currently commited
  • @spookerson
This is the best speech I've heard so far on this issue!

Former Israeli official Brig. Gen. Yitzhak Segev, who was the Israeli military governor in Gaza in the early 1980s, told a New York Times reporter that he had helped finance the Palestinian Islamist movement as a "counterweight" to the secularists and leftists of the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Fatah party, led by Yasser Arafat. Avner Cohen, a former Israeli religious affairs official who worked in Gaza for more than two decades, told the Wall Street Journal in 2009 that Hamas is "Israel's creation."
  • If she keeps running on this position, a lot would have to go wrong for her to lose this November. Possible, but not likely.

Finally, a normal take from a leader. Why was this so hard to do this entire time?
