"there's music in him so to speak" - Who's here before Joker: Folie à Deux?

That composer is incredible. She matched the tone of the entire film into such an emotional song
  • “Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfort”
  • Heath Ledger was great but Joaquin Phoenix took this character to a human level that we've never seen before. What a performance too!
  • Almost a year later and im still OBSESSED with this movie
  • I loved the plot twist when you realize his girlfriend was not real, at that point without any words you realize this guy is totally insane! A true master piece of acting and filming!
  • It made it feel like anyone could be joker. I could go on about this movie for hours lol. Truly a masterpiece of cinema.
  • This is 100% how you use CGI – couldn't even tell it was CGI, those buildings.
  • this is the man who directed The Hangover trilogy. talk about range!

As dark and grungy as this movie is, it is one of the most elegant films I've ever seen.
  • Joaquin Phoenix is absolutely incomprehesibly great in this role, one of the greatest performances of all time imo.
  • Bradley Cooper looks like he’s pretending to not be Bradley Cooper.
  • The music in this film is so extremely edgy. So anxiety-inducing. Compliments very well the superb acting. No wonder both the composer and Joaquin won 5 awards on this.
  • Arthur Fleck was NOT a narcissist. Every chance he got to reach out to humanity, he tried. He offered laughter and tried to make people happy, even if he didnt quite know how. And every opportunity people had to hurt him, they did.

This movie is borderline perfection. Everything - The cast. The direction. The writing. The score. The photography. The risks. I know many people connected with Heath Ledger's Joker, but Joaquins portrayal of Arthur Fleck is cinematic masterey.
