I don't see any problem with Southgate saying something like "We understand that our performances have been a long way off the mark, but ultimately we've still got the results while playing badly, and are in a quarter final. We need the fans to play a part and get behind us.. we want to win this as much as every fan wants us to, comeee onnnn England."
