  • You should be drinking Cider really when listening to Bristol DnB legends like Roni Size 😂
  • @BeExcellent1
There is no way this is your first time hearing this track! Next you're going to say you never heard Goldie Innercity Life!
  • @markjones127
Such an awesome tune, crazy hearing it referred to as a hidden gem though as it was a huge hit in the UK, mad to think it wasn't as well known globally as we all held him and his band in such high esteem, he was the man!

Shiiiiit... Was 16yrs old when I first heard this. 42 now and I still have this track on my playlist. Great reaction guys!!
  • @GRANT250MX
It’s worth noting that this was actually a band. They play this live on stage with real instruments and synths.

90's UK Jungle/Drum & Bass is a rabbit hole worth taking a trip down. . The UK was, is, and always will be on a different level.
  • You should try picking up a copy of "New Forms" the album on vinyl...it was their debut album and won the Mercury Prize in 1997
  • I worked with Roni size , and krust in the past at the raves of used to MC. Great guys big ups to the Bristol massive
  • @simonwood3457
This is from the 90s and the first mainstream drum and bass tune in uk after winning the mercury music prize
  • @rickb.4168
Aphex Twin Window Licker…..that’s a good rabbit hole to dive into.
  • @lfcwilli
This song has been a constant in my playlist for nearly 30 years

Reprazent used drum samples live on stage, however Roni Size then went on to create Breakbeat Era where he used a live drummer on recordings and on stage - it was beautiful, take a listen because he was pushing boundaries way ahead of his time. The city was Bristol and they had so many amazing producers and had and still still have a unique sound in the UK. The illegal raves going on in the early 90's were epic

"Brown paper bag" is an old skool way of curing weed in the 90s in the UK at least, just so you know.. And it has nothing to do with 9/11 whatsoever 😊
  • @Scoobay
One thing I’d love for you guys to check out, seeing as you’re interested in the history of UK music, is UK hiphop. We have quite an extensive history, going back to the mid 80’s. But for a good starting place: Roots Manuva - Witness. Released in 2001. You may have heard it already, it’s been used in a lot of media over the years and was even on NBA2k(I forget the year, 22 maybe).
  • Greetings from the glorious North West of England, top video fellas...I'm 44 and this track still gives me goosebumps 🔥
  • @b62boom1
I was fortunate enough to meet Roni when he was DJing at a house party back in the 90s and a few times since. He's one of the nicest people I've ever met, a genuinely good soul. This track was an absolute monster!
  • @bsmith6646
This brings back memories.. Can't believe how many years have gone by. 47 now and this is still amazing 🤙
  • You haven't lived until you go to a dirty D&B night in Bristol.
  • @tactical1981
Hyped to see people discovering and enjoying jungle/d&b for the first time. It’s been the dominant musical force in my life for 30+ years.
  • @LiamSerrant
Roni Size use to live next door to my auntie and cousins in Montpellier, Bristol back in the 90s.
