  • You should be drinking Cider really when listening to Bristol DnB legends like Roni Size 😂
  • There is no way this is your first time hearing this track! Next you're going to say you never heard Goldie Innercity Life!

Such an awesome tune, crazy hearing it referred to as a hidden gem though as it was a huge hit in the UK, mad to think it wasn't as well known globally as we all held him and his band in such high esteem, he was the man!

Shiiiiit... Was 16yrs old when I first heard this. 42 now and I still have this track on my playlist. Great reaction guys!!
  • @GRANT250MX
It’s worth noting that this was actually a band. They play this live on stage with real instruments and synths.
  • @rickb.4168
Aphex Twin Window Licker…..that’s a good rabbit hole to dive into.
  • @FreeEngland1
"Brown paper bag" is an old skool way of curing weed in the 90s in the UK at least, just so you know.. And it has nothing to do with 9/11 whatsoever 😊
  • @cupid_stunt7414
You should try picking up a copy of "New Forms" the album on vinyl...it was their debut album and won the Mercury Prize in 1997
  • @lfcwilli
This song has been a constant in my playlist for nearly 30 years
  • @simonwood3457
This is from the 90s and the first mainstream drum and bass tune in uk after winning the mercury music prize
  • I worked with Roni size , and krust in the past at the raves of used to MC. Great guys big ups to the Bristol massive
  • Reprazent used drum samples live on stage, however Roni Size then went on to create Breakbeat Era where he used a live drummer on recordings and on stage - it was beautiful, take a listen because he was pushing boundaries way ahead of his time. The city was Bristol and they had so many amazing producers and had and still still have a unique sound in the UK. The illegal raves going on in the early 90's were epic
  • @brato1000
This was part of the evolution of drum n bass and what was later to be known as the Bristol sound which had that funky element to it pioneered by Roni size and Bryan gee for the next decade or two with their labels full cycle and v recordings which produced countless bangers. You can hear these jazz elements in brand new funk by Adam F which is another certified classic tune
  • @LiamSerrant
Roni Size use to live next door to my auntie and cousins in Montpellier, Bristol back in the 90s.
  • @stoatystoat174
"Roni Size & Reprazent, Brown Paper Bag, live for Radio One 1997 " is a great version of this live with upright bass, real drums, live vocals

Blast from the past, who else feeling nostalgic 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏋️
  • Not sure why Youtube recommended this. I'm not particularly a fan of DnB, however, this track has always been a certified banger. Glad it's still getting recognition.
  • @SeeDaRipper...
You haven't lived until you go to a dirty D&B night in Bristol.
  • Roni Size won the Mercury Music prize in 97 I think with this album and really but DnB further into the mainstream
  • @b62boom1
I was fortunate enough to meet Roni when he was DJing at a house party back in the 90s and a few times since. He's one of the nicest people I've ever met, a genuinely good soul. This track was an absolute monster!
