  • Welcome back to Cambodia Chris. The dish you are eating is a Khmer traditional dish called nom pachok, it’s rice noodles with green curry fish broth, loaded with fresh veggies. Thank you for giving her the extra cash πŸ’° that will really help her out. She’s s real sweet lady … she tried her best to communicate with you… even though she didn’t understand your English❀ Khmer people are the sweetest and most gentle souls.

The communication you had with the lady selling nom banch chuk (noodle with lemon grass fish soup), made my husband & I laughed so hard. We both Cambodian, we understand your interaction. Thought you both were so sweet. You made language barrier a non issue, loved it. You’re such a gentle soul. Hope all the best to you & may god bless you πŸ‘ Think the lady plugging hair may not be β€œnormal”, many of those in Cambodia after the Khmer Rouge, unfortunately. So sad 😭

  • @ThydaCookingTV
The food you bought from the lady is called nom-bonh-chok (it’s rice noodles)
  • @FuzzyRogers7771
authentic and Awesome content Chris. I'm experiencing exactly the same thing as I have just moved permanently to Cambodia. I have not found Cambodia to be any more dangerous than any of the big cities that I have lived in anywhere in the U.S. The people I have met are friendly and welcoming. And the food is fantastic from most street vendors you see. Enjoy Cambodia and I am glad that your subscribers talked you into returning to the Land Of Smiles.
