In the wake of a fatal crash in 2021 on a Phoenix highway, we're looking into potential regulatory gaps that may contribute to fatigue among semi-truck drivers transporting agricultural commodities.

We want to warn you – the footage in this story is hard to watch.

  • Sounds like they didn't "think" the driver was impaired, so they didn't test for it either. The guy looked like he was wide awake when he plowed into them, like a typical meth-zombie. Give me a break.

IF it is so rare to be out of the 150 air-mile radius I doubt the max-worked hours are even logged for agriculture.

They are either going to be Poppin Adderall or they're going to be tired. Rip🎉
  • Sad part is you see a lot of truck drivers driivng crazy and not caring about speed or anything .and we need truck drivers so its sad that so many of them on road at least here there driiving crazy and angry

I will always consider US roads 3rd world tier when they don't separate semis from regular cars and regular cars from pedestrians and bicyclists. They just dump highways and streets onto our communities without any thought. Especially in Arizona

how are you going to try and sue the maker of the truck but settle with the milk company? Arizona Milk Transport was at fault, the truck driver worked 13-14 hours a day, he was asleep at the wheel. there is already a bill making trucks get the system so going after them does what?, money? Now Arizona Milk Transport will be able to keep this under the rug and nothing changes to make sure drivers hours are adjusted. they failed by not ensuring their drivers where in a safe, healthy conduction. and its sick that the state wouldn't do anything, why wasnt that looked at more. did AMT ask the prosecutor nicely not to?

It is so important to understand that, when compliance by companies is largely voluntary and penalties for businesses are minimal, abuses will be frequent. And in this case, a loophole was kindly provided to the company - so there possibly wouldn't be any technical violation. It's what we get, folks, when we vote for the "small government," and "business friendly" politicians to keep our taxes low. Expect much more of this in the future.

Everyone is looking for someone to sue
  • @WJShadrack
Sue the truck manufacturer? Are they gonna sue the maker of the driver driven by the victim as well? Just wondering where it ends …
