Yes little Bengali boy, I will watch this video

Lol Unkraut, actually means weed, as in weeds you pull that are ruining your garden. The correct terminology would have been Gras which unsurprisingly is the german word for grass.

"No little Austrian boy! Don't go into that art school!"

Here in Germany, we have very normal children's stories, i think. For example, the story of the soup jester (suppenkasper) who wouldn't eat a bowl of soup and then starved to death after days of deprivation. I think it is a beautiful story that teaches us that a victory of the mind over physical necessities is possible and that we are not only slaves to our urges

Unkraut has nothing to do with the devils lettuce. It directly translates weeds, but its not used as a synonym for the good stuff. That would for example be Gras, Marihuana, Cannabis or in recent years Brokkoli since the german drug commisioner of the federal government Daniele Ludwig compared them. "Nur weil Alkohol legal ist, ist Cannabis kein Brokkoli." - "Just because alcohol is legal doesn't mean cannabis is broccoli."

There's at least 500 vending machines per little German boys.

Wanna hear some genuine German bedtime stories? Because I actually grew up with them. The most infamous book when it comes to German bedtime stories is "Struwwelpeter" (essentially meaning "tousled Peter"). It's a collection of stories about children who didn't behave the way they were meant to and are subsequently punished. There is Friedrich who kills and tortures animals for fun until a large dog bites him and he gets some kind of infection. There is Pauline, who plays with matches while her parents are away. She catches on fire and burns until the only thing left of her is a pile of ash. The boy who liked to suck his thumbs was called Konrad. Since he wouldn't stop, his mother cut off his thumbs. Problem solved. Prime example of German rationalism. There is the story of the Suppenkasper (Suppe = soup, Kasper is probably the boy's name) He didn't like to eat soup. But his mom wouldn't cook anything else but soup, so he starved to death. Max & Moritz is another classic. The two fill black powder into their teacher's pipe. When he wants to smoke, the thing explodes right in front of his face and severely injures him. They try to break into a bakery but fall into the dough and are baked alive in the oven. Somehow they survive (don't ask me; idk) and attempt another prank. When they try to steal some grain, the farmer catches them red handed. He brings them to the mill and the miller grinds them into grist. Since that is not enough of a punishment, they are then eat by geese. Let me tell you: The monster under the bed is afraid of German kids.

No offense, but the funniest part of the video was when Sumito was overly confident about his translation from "weed" into "Unkraut". 😂
  • @sirghostey1016
Im german and the cutting of thumbs story is 100% a real thing
  • It’s based on the beginning of the German Netflix show “Dark”.The story does indeed begin with little german children going to a cave looking for bluntsmoken.
  • there Is a very real german bedtime Story, of which i participated in a play in primary school, called Max und Moritz. It's about two children who play pranks in their town instead of going to school. In their final prank, they ended up being thrown between the grindstones of a mill, being turned into flour, and consequently, baked into bread to be pecked by birds. Very wholesome.
  • German here, I for one love being memed w/o being linked to the holocaust nor lederhosen, so it's a big W in my book. my fav joke about germans: "how many germans do you need to change a light bulb?" - "One. We're efficent and don't have humour."
  • @stelfer
Germans when you call it a "toilet" and not "das poopenfartten"
  • "unkraut" = non desireable/harmful weeds in argri culture. pls go ahead and appropriate german culture as much as you want. it's the closest we get to world domination.
  • @Qvartz_Lite
Aren't we all little german boys, thrown into this Bluntsmoken cave called life?
  • @aaronmeyer3664
These bedtime stories are in fact real and its not just the bedtime stories that are this messed up. Songs are like this as well. There is one about a fox who stole a goose so he gets shot. Theres one about a cuckoo who sits in a tree and gets shot. Theres one for Hensel & Gretel (you might have heard of this one) where two kids burn an old lady in an oven. Plenty of good nights sleep to be had over here.

7:54 That is a story from the "Struwelpeter" collection of bedtime stories. Some other stories in the same collection include a boy starving to death because he wouldn't eat his soup, a girl burning to death because she played with matches and a boy falling into a river because he kept looking up as he walked. There is also "Max und Moritz" wich is very similar to "Struwelpeter" but it's revolving around the mishaps of the brother Max and Moritz specificaly. They play a view pranks throughout the story, like steal a chicken, and at the end they are baked into bread and fed to the gees. Now from the "Gebrüder Grimm" stories you definitely heard. This is where Disney got snowwhite, Rapunzel and sleeping beauty from. Well, there are a whole lot more stories in that book. One specifically is in the "for kids" section and goes something like this: A boy is sent into the woods to get firewood by his mother. There he meets another boy who helps him very much. When they get home they say good bye and the stranger gives him a rose and says he will return once it blooms. The boy tells the mother about it and they put the rose next to his bed in a vase. The next morning the rose is blooming and the boy is dead. THE END Yet another story from this book is about a group of gees that are attacked by a fox and tell the fox that they want to pray one last time after wich they will give themselves up. So they are now forever praying to not get eaten. Yes. These are all actual stories that I, heard at first but then, read myselfe when I was a child.
