I’m born and raised Vegas 52 years Vegas Strong 💪🏽 I can tell you it’s parenting, my Mom and Dad NEVER exposed us kids to the adult life. We went out to eat and planning was everything but always family time.

These videos crack me up. They discourage moving to Vegas, but they make tons of Vegas content for money on YouTube. And they never move 🤣

thank you for your honesty .... i first visited vegas in 1977 ... it was quite a nice (and VERY AFFORDABLE!) town back then... in fact southwest airlines sold a book of 10 flight coupons to vegas for $290.00! and I lived in the Los Angeles area (20 minutes from LAX) so it was very easy to hop on a plane (NO FRISKING! NO METAL DETECTORS!) and NICE hotels were a BARGAIN! .... and this was a time when you bought your (cheap) tickets for a show and there were doormen that escorted you to your seat so it was very easy to tip the guy $10 bucks (that would be at least $30 today) and he'd put you up front! ... You could also walk across (carefully) the stip (NO BARRIERS!) ... Man ... Las Vegas USED to be GREAT!

😅...don't leave out: #16. Low school test scores. CCSD is not known for educating students for colleges and/or universities. High schools graduated students just so they could work minimum wage jobs in the casinos; and, #17. Comparatively Low Wages - that's why native Las Vegans can't compete in the housing market with out of state buyers who pay cash or have huge down payments. Current home prices mean average monthly payments are ranging from $2400-$3000 per month. Home prices have more than doubled since 2020 while local wages have not. It is not uncommon for an employer to offer minimum wage (+/-) plus Tips as a beginning salary! Tips (from the public) are built into the salary structure for many, many jobs. There are some regular skill wage jobs that still only offer $12-$15 per hour to start. In some fields, it is very, very rare to earn $20+ per hour.

I've considered Las Vegas a good retirement venue, and many people settle in Henderson to alleviate the social and lifestyle issues. Everyplace is expensive now, and crime is high everywhere, still think LV is better than a lot of place. Californians often moved here for (used to be) cheap housing. No state income tax, good shopping and you won't travel in town that much ....

I have lived in Las Vegas since 2006, and I can say that everything she says is accurate. Another thing I’m going to add is this place went downhill the last few years even the best areas of Summerlin and Henderson are sketchy people moving here from the ghetto of California making it not as nice as it used to be.
  • The high crime rate ~ low lifes ~ the bad drinking water~ and blocked in traffic for any reason is just not happening ~ people who move there claim their happy there but reality is they got trapped there. You have someone even recommending to gamble in the morning.which is the equivalent of smoking ~ there’s just no good reason to gamble that’s for ignorant people. I give Las Vegas a 1 star ~ low wages, low quality people, low quality water, low quality justice system it’s corrupt and broken beyond repair.

Resort fees (at hotels) keep me from going to Las Vegas.

under 100F its just dry heat and feels wonderful. AT 110F the heat pain sets in and dont be outside in.

Ms. Moreno...thank you for taking the time to be so personable to share information for people thinking about moving to the Las Vegas area. Over the years I have gone through Las Vegas, once as I was using my motorcycle in the course of taking a cross country trip , at that time from California. Also many years later just driving there for a short visit to the city to enjoy the attractions with my wife. The points you bring up are very well thoughout and presented and should really help people considering a permanent move to really consider the important considerations you have shared. Again thank you for being so helpful and I hope people will take the time to plan accordingly with your points in mind!

I lived in AZ and would go to Vegas. I do agree with your opinions. Vegas life is only for SOME people.
  • @MrJ-dc3yz
She's mostly right. F1 absolutely sucked. But she left out the biggest thing. California. They moved here, so everyone jacked up the prices and they brought their drama with them.
