Fast food used to be quick and cheap, now it's slow and expensive.. how 🤣

It's actually a good thing fast food has become expensive. It gives you yet another incentive not to eat that slop. Cook for yourself. It's better, cheaper, and you learn a skill.

Refusal to buy is always the consumers' best weapon.

I've been scrolling for 20 minutes and haven't seen a single comment mentioning how the Federal Reserve printed trillions of dollars since the pandemic. Maybe that had something to do with prices rising across the board? Just maybe? Anyone?
  • Only in America is it both expensive to eat healthy and eat unhealthy food.

It's deeply concerning to see the cost of living increase, especially in necessities like food. The shift from fast food being a budget-friendly option to becoming unaffordable signals more significant economic issues.

Last time I ate McDonald’s I got the value meal it was 2 cheeseburgers medium fries and medium drink was $2.99! Mid 90s were a great time to grow up.

Fastfood was never good. The only “incentive“ was the low price. Now that prices are rising there is no reason to consume fastfood anymore.

It’s amazing how countless videos point out the problem, but no one knows or offers a solution.
  • McDonald’s has even acknowledged in their last earnings report that McDonald’s has become out of reach for poor people. My whole family used to eat there for $25 then the following month it was $28, then $31, then $33, then over $40 in less than a year.

After months of complaining about “McDonalds and Taco Bell are so expensive now..” it finally clicked! I will no longer go to these trash places. I’ve been going to these “restaurants” ever since I could remember. But the time has come to change old bad habits to new better ones. So long taco hell and McPuke. People are paying more for shittier food and shittier service from over worker employees.

The world we are creating.. the world we are headed.. genuinely scares me.
  • Now at this point preparing food at home is not just cheaper but also healthier which gives another reason why we should stop eating those useless dishes

As a 20 year old just entering the real world, I eat my prep meals 3 times a day. It's cheaper, healthier, and has taught me valuable cooking skills. If you're young like me, skip the drive-thru and thank yourself later
  • 9:00 A downside to corporate prosperity - they displace local business, then when the economy hits a bump they'll leave the area high and dry.
