    About 4 years ago my parents adopted a baby Sulphur Crested Cockatoo, he loved me and my dad but absolutely hated mum. He was so tame and could sing the song 'perfect' he enjoyed hugs. Unfortunately he got caught in his cage and we found him dehydrated. I loved him so much, I'll never forget him. I have a pet cockatiel called Bert now and he is just as tame. It takes a lot of patience to have parrots and I do understand your comments, they can bite fingers off with ease, if not handled properly.

    I was blessed to see Groucho at SF TX many years ago. Sure wish they still had the birds of the wild show.

    Training the speech birds was one of the listed 64 general professions in Ancient India. Happy to see such profession is still kept alive in the world.
