VR + HUD off is my go to way of playing iRacing. It's a tad bit slower than a rigid setup with more information, but holy moly the immersion and amount of fun is unrivaled!

3:04 , youre god damn right ive got places to be. First stop, the gravel trap woohoo
  • @richmurphy8337
Love the odd piece of VR content Dave! My PC would die a death though.... now if only i knew a company that would take all the hassle out of building a PC for me!
  • @joeyhoser
I'm enjoying VR perspective of this video a lot more than I thought I would. Maybe add the TV cam in a corner, and add the lap-times/standings back in for us to see. That'd be awesome.
  • @kennethlutze
VR racing with no hud is actually genius, I can't believe I never thought of it. While handy, the iracing hud elements in VR are a little distracting, how they float in space on top of the car interior. I'm not saying there's an obvious alternate way to implement them, but they bug my eyes, maybe its the partial opacity.

I've found learning in VR so useful. Not being able to see the telemetry immediately on the screen using an overlay (it is possible but I don't) really helps me actually feel what I'm doing. If I need to look at telemetry I'll look on VRS after a session but learning new tracks without overanalysing your inputs too much has helped me a lot.
  • @mrmidnight32
Only thing better than VR in sim racing is a motion rig
  • Vr is the best way for immersion racing. All you need is a buttkicker under the seat and youll be amazed how real it will feel.
  • @c_farm7868
Oh hell yeah. Haven’t watched it yet and I already know this video is going to be soooooooooo good
  • @MrMiller_77
I always loved the idea of VR and racing, bought a Reverb G2 and couldn't stand it. I wear glasses and for the life of me couldn't get a usable image. So I sold the G2 and went with a 49" Ultra Wide.
  • @Lars131
Nice video as always! Glad to see you like VR too. In VR we don't hide the halo! 😂
  • @paulm6397
    Hagen…………Das……that was a classic!😂
  • @MK-xv1hv
I would love it if the game would be displayed normally on the screen while playing in VR. Would give all content creators and streamers the ability to play in VR while giving the viewer an enjoyable experience.
  • Love to see you doing VR Dave! It truly is more fun than monitor racing but, I understand for content purposes, it may not be the way to go. I've been trying to prove that wrong with my small channel for a year now and it's been a slow go but I'm having a blast! Excited to see the review of this headset as it's been off my radar for some reason. I'm in the market for a new HMD soon so this shall be interesting. Anyway, cheers Dave and hope to see more content like this in an open wheel car. I'm the opposite, I don't do non downforce cars well, lol.
  • @VirtuaDriver
Cracking drive dave, proper enjoyed that one! (also +1 for the VR, Personally love driving in it but I really need to upgrade from the Original Occulus I have, look forward to seeing your proper throughts on the DPVR E4!)
  • @EritoKaio
Oh i didn't know about this headset, I had just started looking into VR for simracing as I dont have space for a big monitor and even less triples, so I've been thinking of giving VR a go. Oh and, everybody ok?
