In 2003 Peyton Manning lead the Indianapolis Colts into Raymond James stadium for a showdown with the defending Super Bowl Champions, the Gruden lead Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With just over 3 minutes left the Colts found themselves down by 21 points. That's when The Sheriff took over.

Which crazy ending should we do next?

I clicked to see Manning, but I stayed for Al Michaels and John Madden. God how I've missed that combo. It just sounds like pure football to me

"If you're gonna doink the pipe, You want it to go inside after the doink" some of the best advice in history.

Had to come back and re-watch this after the Colts gave up the largest comeback in NFL history today.

The route Marvin Harrison put on that db at 17:25 is crazy. He literally made the db fly out of the camera frame on the replay. R.I.P. those ankles

Just goes to show throughout history: when the announcer talks about the kicker’s completion percentage or praises the kicker, it’s an automatic jinx.

"If you are going to doink the pipe you want it to go in after the doink." The man is a treasure. Thank you Mr. Madden.

Coach : we have a 3% chance of pulling this one off and only got 1 timeout left.. Manning : Omaha..

The most exciting football game I have ever watched. I had asked my husband to turn it off because the “game was over”. I sat there and watched each touchdown in disbelief. Thanks for posting. It was fun to watch it again.

Could you imagine if you were one of the fair weather fans who walked out, but then heard later of this amazing comeback?? Hahaha

When you're playing against your little brother in madden and you decide to start trying.

Colts win rate: 3% Manning: so you're saying there's still a chance
  • This game was an example of what can happen with a little bit of luck (the onside kicks) and when you give Peyton Manning time in the pocket. He could pick you apart. It didn't hurt at all that he had Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne at receiver.
  • OMG!! As a Buccaneers fan. I was loving to see Manning stage this comeback, but I cried at that BS penalty at the end.

Gruden’s reaction this whole time is priceless. He knows exactly what is about to happen to him.

After the passing of a legend, it was almost emotional to hear John Madden as a co-anchor. What a guy. A true legend!

I watched this game live. I remember starting my homework after the game got out of hand then becoming glued to the action in the last 4 minutes and found myself cheering for the Colts. This game made me a Manning fan. The years that followed with painful playoff blowouts with the Broncos vs. Colts made me appreciate Manning's skill. Little did I know at the time Manning would be the QB for my Broncos next Super Bowl victory. I wouldn't trade the Broncos fan arch over the last 25 years with any other team in pro sports. 4 Super Bowls, 3 victories, Elway, Plummer, Cutler , Tebow, Manning. The 2010 Tebow year was the most fun I've ever had watching football. Tebow had an immeasurable impact on the game and it was his success that led to Manning choosing the Broncos in 2011. Now, with Russell Wilson (Jake Plummer 2.0) Broncos fans have a new hope.
