Correction: the last story occurred in 2022. Not a clue why I said 2023! what did you think of this new series? Any streams I should cover in the future?

If you can't swim and find yourself suddenly in deep water, go on your back. Try the lay on top of the water facing up. Make your body as wide as possible. Put your arms and legs wide out on each side of your body. It will keep your face above water. Our body is comprised of elements that naturally make us buoyant like adipose tissue. Use that to your advantage. Even if you can't touch the bottom of whatever body of water you're in, you should be able to change your body position to lay facing up. Maybe try practicing that in shallow water while holding the side of the pool.

Yeah I think a $50,000 fine for negligence causing 2 fiery deaths is an insult to the memory of the men and to the pain suffered by their families.
  • @doclewis8927
Two men died but the companies only got "fined" $50,000. What...the...f...?
  • What makes the first tragedy on here so brutal is this. It was bad enough to be trapped and have no way out. Then, to have firefighters literally right near you, only to have them forced back due to the smoke. Just all around tragic.

It would seem to me that the person who killed the Hide and Seek guy was probably the dude that was told not to come in the beginning of the livestream.
  • The thought of being murdered while playing hide & seek in the dark is fucking terrifying

Demonte, Ruben, Ernest, Xiao, Hellen, Natalie, not forgotten and may you rest in peace all of you....
  • @MazzieMay
Seeing someone you knew in a thumbnail for something called ‘horrifying’ is a weird feeling. I guess I’m happy people remember Demonte, even if it was his worst day. Reuben, too

As a former life guard at a waterpark, you would be shocked to see how many people get in water, DEEP water, knowing they can't even float with just an inflatable for support. I've seen it happen so many times, they're out there and suddenly someone bumps into them, they get hit with a good wave, or they just loose their grip and they're gone. Some struggle and are loud about it, but just as many freeze in their panic and are hard to notice. Sometimes people will just trip in fall in waist deep water and panic. They forget they can stand up, they get disoriented and cant find the surface, they inhale and that makes them panic more. If you can't swim, do not swim anywhere without a life guard. Even if you can swim, don't swim alone. All it takes is a slip and fall, a dizzy spell, a riptide, a leg cramp. Even strong swimmers can get into trouble.

The shot of the perp scaling the fence was fucking terrifying. The darkness, ominous and unclear intentions as he climbs up the fence makes it more unsettling!

One of the saddest ones I’ve seen was two cousins around 12-14 playing with a gun and it goes off killing both of them at a birthday party. You see the family break down the door and everyone is screaming and crying. The worst thing I’ve ever seen and heard.

All it takes is one deep lung full of water and you're done for. When I taught my daughter to swim, the first thing I taught her was "the safety bounce". Calmly let yourself sink to the bottom, then kick up with all your strength, at an angle towards the nearest edge. Take a deep breath, and then sink again. Kick up, breathe, sink. Repeat until you reach the edge. We practiced from the shallow end all the way to the deepest end, until she was completely confident that she could do it on her own. She was only 5, and knew to stay in the shallow end unless I was with her, but we both felt better knowing that she could get to safety if she needed to.

Drowning is often a very quiet and seemingly calm event. Half of kids that drown do so within 25 yards of a parent and 10% drowned while the parent was actually watching them. But they just didn’t recognize the signs of drowning until it was too late. It’s not always like the movies with kicking and thrashing around. The signs that lifeguards are trained to look for is someone who’s bobbing in the water, using their arms to push the water down to bring their head up higher. That’s a completely involuntary physical response. Their legs usually aren’t moving at all. And very often they don’t yell or say anything bc they’re just trying to gasp for air. Their head will be back, mouth open, and eyes either closed or glassy/unfocused. It happens really fast and someone that can’t swim would absolutely panic if all of a sudden their feet couldn’t touch the bottom. Especially without anyone else around to help. The next thing they know they’ve inhaled water and it’s over within a minute. My uncle drowned when he was 14 and my grandmother, who raised me, made me take swimming lessons every summer from the age of 5 till around 15. But I still wasn’t allowed to go swimming outside of my lessons lol. I can’t blame her for that though, she suffered from his loss her entire life.

Never go swimming alone. Even you're a great swimmer, you can always slip or have a sudden medical emergency that will take you out. If you can't swim at all, especially don't get in any water, shallow or deep, by yourself. Always tell someone (if you're with someone) that you're going swimming and where, that way they know where you are.

I've seen some of these before. Total nightmares. I think the worst one is the one with the construction workers. I can't imagine being moments away from being saved only to realize it's impossible to do.
  • The killer of the hide n seek dude was no doubt a viewer he taunted in the stream. He dared one to come over and...one came over
  • @faerydogmother
The story of Stephen and Natalie... I can't believe the police claimed credit when they literally didn't even think to re-examine him as a suspect until the taxi driver came forward. He almost got away with it entirely.
