Waltz was the acting CSM so he was in meetings talking about the unit deployments at least one year to two years before the Deployment was announced. Those briefings would have been classified briefings so the rest of the unit would not have known! He left another person who had not been in any previous briefings and had no preparation time to assume the CSM role for the unit! That was not an honorable thing to do!

It was 24 years in the national gaurd. That comes to less than 10 in for regular enlisted military. He never saw combat and lied about carrying an a weapon during war. He is not qualified to speak about AR style weapons which are NOT weapons of war.
