I think it is funnier if the Legends of Tomorrow canonically ends when them going away to jail forever, right after the one member of the team who was still a huge criminal left the team, never seeing the inside of a cell for all the things he stole.

Sarah Connor chronicles introduced a great concept. In the show skynet wasn’t just sending terminators back to kill John. They were sending multiple t-800s to insure their existence and survival. One would just stock pile weapons. Another had the assignment of protecting a kid who invents a chess playing artificial intelligence which evolve to become skynet
