Hey everyone! I am blown away with how well this is doing and I can’t thank you all enough. I wanted to pin this comment to clear up some things I’ve seen mentioned in the comments a lot: “Kith” is kiss pronounced with a lisp and I use it to talk about those movies I pronounced Hostel wrong Salo is not a true story, it’s a fiction adaptation in a true setting much like apocalypse now Rest In Peace Junko

When "A Serbian Film" was at the top I knew I was fucked

One disturbing thing to note about Friday the 13th is that the snake scene is all real. They really do kill a harmless snake for no reason. The pet snake's owner was told beforehand that their snake would be fine, but during the scene the actors were told to just improv it and decided to murder an innocent animal. The snake's owner was devastated. I can't bear to watch the first Friday the 13 anymore just because of that scene, despite it having been one of my few favorite slashers.
  • junko furuta’s case always sends CHILLS down my spine, reading her friend’s messages after her passing will never fail to make me cry. rest in peace

the way that the tier list literally just goes from “plot with some violence” to “violence with some plot”
  • @io.rrracso
Half the movies past tier 3 aren’t even movie titles just strings of violent nouns and verbs
  • @jesslauren8031
The part that disgusts me about the Junko case is that one or some of the boys bragged about what they did and that one of the boys mothers went to her memorial site to deface it because she was mad that her son got in trouble because if her. All because Junko rejected one of the boys when he confessed to her.
  • What I learned from this Iceberg is that disturbing movies are like the spiciness level of hot wings: the first 3-4 tiers have some redeeming flavor to them, while the higher tiers filled with razor blades and STDs, are clearly bad for your health.

vomit being fetishized is crazy to me. i cant even be in a room with someone who MIGHT vomit.
  • after tier 3, the list just consists of directors going “how much fucked up shit can we do to women”

"Don't look it up." Me immediately pausing the video so I can go look it up.

Seeing “A Serbian Film” near the top was quite an unpleasant surprise. Quite strange how it can always get worse

"There's a part where a tarantula... goes where it's not supposed to." I choose to interpret this as a heartwarming children's story about a young tarantula voiced by Chris Evans who gets lost from his web and has to go home. With musical numbers.

Junko Furuta, the poor Japanese girl that was brutalised, had her gravestone defaced by one of the culprits mothers who said "she ruined her sons life". I thought that made the entire sad ordeal so much worse.

  • One of the most disturbing things to think about is the sheer amount of these that are about the torture of women made to seem fetishizing.

CORRECTION: "Salo" or "The 120 Days of Sodom" is a film based not on "Dante's Inferno or The Divine Comedy", but on the eponymous and unfinished novel written in 1785 by the Marquis de Sade, a depraved writer of the French nobility from the 18th century, and from which the words “sadism” or “sadomasochism” directly derive, using the root of his name.
