4.7L to 5.7L HEMI Engine Swap - 2004 Dodge Ram

Published 2024-06-13
Hi! In this video, I explain how I swapped a 5.7L Hemi engine into my 2004 Dodge Ram 1500. I believe this is the first video created that covers in detail everything you need to successfully do it. This same method can be used for other years too. There’s a lot of information packed into it, so hopefully it goes a long way helping people out. Enjoy!

NOTE ON CRUISE CONTROL: The ABS module was not on the shopping list, but you will need it for cruise control to work in the 5.7L because they're a different part number from the 4.7L to 5.7L, otherwise cruise control will not work properly or at all. Pulling the ABS module and PCM from the same truck is the simplest way to avoid the ABS module "VIN Mismatch" code which will cause the ABS and Parking Brake lights to be on in the dash.

Good luck!

I have personally done several projects with this guy, he’s an absolute genius. Amazing quality video as well!
  • So when i go to the wrench a part and get a pcm do i need the immobilizer too? Confused how to program the key cant find any locksmith with software to reprogram ecu or pcu
  • Not only is it a power increase but also reliability upgrade. 4.7 are complete garbage and should be deleted from existence. Never have I seen a 4.7 truck for sale that didn’t need head gaskets or have overheating issues.
