The Gospel of Judas caused a huge stir when National Geographic published it back in 2006. But to this day, misconceptions about this text abound. Who wrote this text? And what does it really say?

  • I'm gonna start saying "Why are you getting worked up, 13th demon? Speak now and I shall bear with you." to people
  • @JShepLord
"Why do you laugh at us Jesus?" "Sorry, I just remembered a funny joke..."
  • I've recently found your channel and have subscribed after watching several of your presentations. It's so nice to see a presentation about religions that's purely academic and not biased toward any of them. I've loved to study religions myself as a hobby. However, without enrolling in a good college-level theology or divinity class, I've found it difficult to find material that's not either skewed toward or against religion(s) to just study them. Keep up the great work. I look forward to watching more of your videos. Thank you.

It's cool going back to this and seeing how RFB's presentation style improved over the years. Great channel.

Ever get the feeling that the 3rd century had trolling fanfic authors too?
  • @ComicGladiator
Jesus looks super uncomfortable letting Judas kiss him, but like he's trying to be cool about it.
  • @Cloudipy
"you 13th spirit, why do you try so hard" is so sassy, like Jesus is calling Judas a poser
  • @El-nd4it
That's so wild, I would so watch like a 3 hour long in-depth deconstruction of this text.

“Truly I tell you, no generation will know me from the people who are among you.” Actually, if Jesus truly said this, it is beyond accurate.
  • @Marcissus
This sounds like a creepypasta form of the gospel
  • Great breakdown. Very easy to follow and well informed. I enjoyed this video very much. Thank you.
  • @AshtonAPinto
Some people think that we Christians are not to read the gospel of Judas, which is weird. As an Indian Catholic, I am happy to have read this text.

So what is your occupation? Irenaeus of Lyons: I'm a heresiologist. An expert of labelling other people beliefs as heresy.
  • Jesus said: "I am not laughing at you... I'm laughing because this bit reminds me of that bit in 'Life of Brian' where Biggus Dickus starts reading to the crowd."

I enjoy all of your videos my friend, great work!

My mind is in flames. I need to do more research, it won’t let me rest
  • @HeardItOnTheX
The Antiquities dealer tried selling Judas for $3000000? If there is a God, he’s got a great sense of humour.
  • The Gospel of Mark also portray the disciples as not too bright....Peter was always talking without thinking
  • @CalumCarlyle
Great summary. I've not read this for over a decade, but I'll be digging it out for another read, now.
