As a raised coptic, I want to salute you for your insight. Athnasius was the Bishop of Alexandria, he was loved by the Egyptian people, but the power in Egypt at that time was still in the hand of the Romans who backed Arius .. So, the king or (The Waly) of Egypt appointed by Rome, banished Athnasius 5 times and put another Bishop who followed Arius, but the people didn't pray with him and refused his Bishopric .. And after every banishment of Athnasius, the people demonstrated in Alexandria so that the rulers will bring him back. So, yes, Athnasius wasn't military strong but he was and still one of the most Popular Bishops in all of Egypt's Christian history, that some people exaggerate calling him the 13th disciple for his strong fight against Arius from the time he was still a young Deacon. My greetings for you.

I love your videos on early christianity! Not only is it a great topic that I love, but the fact that it is your passion is reflected in just how good these videos always are on an entertainment and educational level. Keep doing what you're doing and I can't wait for more videos.

5:08 "WHERE THESE BOOKS WERE FOUND" Love it!! Would love to learn more about where else we should be digging next to find more wonderful buried treasures like the NH library.

Any plans for a video on the early Christian magic you mentioned? I would love to see that.

Love watching your vids... full of detail and unbiased
-
amazing work! Think you could do something on Ancient Christian ecclesiology? On how government and leadership and community worked in Pre-Medieval Christianity?
-
Best channel name is yours. Cracked me up during first meal of the day.

Great work. I really appreciate it.

"I'm not going to deny they had no power..." I think you meant 'imply' there. Script editing oversights aside, great video. Very informative. For me, the part especially in which you remind us about the short extent of a priest's power in Athanasius' time was an eye opener. Very logical, but not something you think about. As you said, we tent to view such religious leader through the lens of similar but much more powerful figures. Thanks for clearing that fog up. Nicola Denzey Lewis is now waiting for me in the next tab. This is going to be an interesting afternoon.
