Air Defender 2023: The Sky's the Limit in NATO's Largest Air Drill | WELT Documentary

In their largest air exercise to date, "Air Defender 23," armed forces from a total of 25 nations, including NATO member states and other countries within European airspace, practiced their responsiveness. With thousands of soldiers and hundreds of aircraft of all types, they send a clear message: We are ready. The maneuvers test the operational capability of the air forces. Every operation is planned down to the smallest detail and is executed as realistically as possible. A challenging task.

That's why I always prefer WELT documentary to DW stuff, WELT is concise, accurate, straight to the point, just good old German style flow of information neatly arranged. They tell you what the mission is, what is being done versus that needs to be done, and what improvements are in the works, clear cut and precise. If this video was made by DW, half of the show would be about how many women we have in the military, how many lgbtqiapk+ people we have in the military, how many minorities we have in the military, and the great efforts of the German government made in promoting inclusion and diversity because they are still born with the WW2 guilt, a.k.a. stuff that has nothing to do with the topic but solely for their propaganda purpose. Then the second half would be how everyday German civilians are concerned about a potential war. The way they usually do this is by pulling some random pedestrians off the streets, usually with pink hair and nose rings, to tell you that we are a peaceful nation, we don't want war, we are really worried, the government should really put more money into welfare instead of weapons. This is the so-called "balancing view from the opposite side of the opinion spectrum". Then the last two minutes would be some minority service woman in a veil who just got done screwing on the fuel tank of the jet who tells you things are not great but it's slowly getting better, and the narrator will conclude with due to current conflicts around the world, we are heading into uncharted waters, blah blah

1k hours is quite a bit when you factor in the plane only has about 45 mins of fuel without external tanks or refueling. Well the euro fighter probably has more because they have the delta wing for that purpose but it hurts the maneuvering. Everything today is missiles so maneuvering isn’t as important as before

I swear the one narrator in this video sounds exactly like the Kurzgesagt narrator

Interesting to see a giant "Stars and Stripes" painted in the tails of German Tornados and A-400s.
