  • Having owned a MX5800HST, the ability to operate the PTO off the tractor seat is fantastic. Also, relocating the PTO on/off switch is a good improvement and will save a lot of back twisting. Good stuff.

Hey Neil. Thanks for all the info, influenced me getting my L4802. Going to do a YT review, hope you don’t mind me sending people here for more detail.
  • Great upgrades to the L4701. I still opted for the MX5400DT. Thanks for another great video Neal!!!
  • @joeyw4442
Thank goodness.....now I can get some floormats for L4701. And Messick's had 'em in stock. 🙂
  • @sparkyprep3905
Ordered one back in Feb. I should be taking delivery on Monday. Finally!!!!

I just bought a MX5400DT and love it! Best money I ever spent!
  • Another great review. Messick's videos hit differently. This is also why I order from your site and pay shipping! Thank you

I like these upgrades. Your videos are so much fun to watch as I try to figure out what lion get. Wish I lived closer to you but do purchase from you online when I can. Great service from your team!!

Thanks Neil, One of the things I have noticed with the deep groves & notches in a Floor Mat, certain boots of Mine get stuck in a Mat notch and the Groves in the Clutch Pedal. And with the strong Clutch Spring I have to Forceable pull My foot free. Mike M.
  • @earlyriser8998
Agree with Neil that we bought the MX6000 instead of the L4701. Price was close. But, I loved the larger tires and more 'grunt' in 4wd which I needed for road maintenance.

Was set on the Grand L. Saw brand new one on the lot and all the plastic was destroyed by the sun. This seems like a higher quality unit. I operated both. I think I will order this one with the hydrostatic trans.
  • @aaronsbarker
As a note.... if you do buy those rubber mats, take the time to clean and paint the existing floor pan and allow the paint to cure fully... if you just plunk the mat down over the bare metal , it'll rust to beat the band.
  • I really like the new upgrades. I have noticed that the L4701 has never been the heavy hitter that the L2501 has been. At least as far as sales go. I have the gear drive, ag tired version of the L2501 and it has been an absolute delight to own. It sits parked when not in use with 4 John Deere tractors and a Ford tractor and I have yet to have to break up a fight. I watched your video about the pulling power test gear drive vs. hydrostatic. That was a big sell for me. I have a Kubota GR2120 lawn tractor and I am stuck with Kubotas goofy treadle pedal on that. Although I love that machine, I am not a fan of the treadle pedal. I also have a big John Deere lawn tractor that has the twin touch pedals, which I prefer hands down. Although, the Kubota GR2120 will mow circles around it. Kubota needs to toot their own horn about their Glide Steer feature. That is amazing. It turns that mower into a zero turn( or nearly so) Thanks Neal. Love your videos. I watch them all. You are stuck with me now.
  • @acdii
I wish the L4060 had that PTO switch instead of having to flip the seat forward. Makes it a PITA when trying to use my sprayer wand.
  • @vrpioneer22
Hey Neil, your videos have been very informative and helpful, especially for a tractor newbie like me. Would love to see a video on the new LX3520 & LX4020. Not much about them out there.
  • Really appreciate all of the information you provide. When I was tractor shopping this is the one I really wanted but there were none around to be had and I even called another state. Needed one in a hurry for "snow season" so opted with the L3902. I may try to upgrade later. Maybe you could do a video on trading up and the in's/out's of that.
  • @brianwood8316
Is there an improvement to the seat suspension over the older 4701?
  • @Drew6709
L4240 has to have the seat positioned up to be able to use the PTO while off the machine.
  • @kennethharwood2083
Would love to see a new step for the Grand L that would be a lot cheaper than the aftermarket $400+
