Good Morning Marmy!
In today's video, I share a life update. I have some small health updates and some home updates but the biggest update by far is the work update. Things are changing (not so much for you guys watching) but more for me and what I'm going to be doing. I'm excited and nervous and just kinda overwhelmed before it even starts 😅

Please tell me what's going on in your life in the comments down below - I promise to respond to each and every comment x

  • Congrats on the change! I heard a good quote this week that resonated with me: If you don't care of your health now you're going to have to take care of your illness later. So true! Take care of yourself Tina!
  • I have an appointment on November 24th about my depression I supposed to be getting a shot for it every Monthly & that helps a whole bunch
  • I am glad you are looking after your health my dear! All the best in the new year as you start doing OT work again 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️ I remember back in the day you inspired me to apply for my master's in OT
  • Great to know you're starting OT again, all the best. Always love watching your videos and Insta stories.
  • Congratulations on being able to work in your profession again! Transition times are scary....I am entering a different one now....the only choice is go forward. Go do great things!

It’s nice to hear that you’ll be going back to doing something you love Tina! I can totally relate to that and the fact that clutter affects us mentally!! In terms of my big update I want to get a house soon as my toddler is growing up and we need more space!
  • @bina_rrt
Congrats! This is a big deal, happy you are going to do this for you!
  • Hi Tina! Congratulations on going back to OT. I just hired a cleaning person to come clean the house about once a month and as a working mom it’s absolutely necessary. No need to justify it, all the moms know that falls to the bottom of the priority list. Spend time doing what you enjoy. 😊
  • That is really great Tina do what makes you happy and take care of your health

First, I’m glad to hear that you’re feeling okay after what you had went through, Tina. Your desire to get back into your former profession sounds like the beginning of a new chapter. That’s something to be excited for and a good place to be in. Definitely looking forward to hear how it goes for you as you venture back onto those familiar grounds :)

Nobody says a word if you outsource lawn cutting, landscaping, painting, hair cutting. For cripes sake we outsource getting the taxes done properly So why the fuss about house cleaning (and laundry). You have a job, a profession, that helps people. These are traditional tasks associated with "the housewife". No shame in getting someone to do something you don't want to/can afford to have someone else do/aren't skilled enough to do to your expectation. You are paying and employing a person. This is how an economy works. Everybody has work and income. Sometimes "doing it yourself" is more expensive (see taxes and making an error), not done to code (see renovation and landscaping), or is just plain dangerous (electricians and plumbing). Good on you for taking the steps to the next episode of life.
  • What a fantastic update! Congratulations on your recent career shifts. You couldn't stop smiling, talking about how you love and enjoy the impactful first career you are spending more time with. This is very exciting! On the health side, you are correct - genetics plays a big role (I'm in the health profession myself), but I'm glad you are focusing on eating clean and finding ways to balance life for your physical health and mental health. Podcast?!?! How did I not know this? I'm going to check that out right after finishing this note. (Be prepared.... it may be a long one, so please bare with me!) It is wonderful to hear how you are making changes in your life, for yourself and your family, especially with the goals you have for your many work careers (OT/YouTube/podcast/Instagram/etc.), and life careers (wife/mom/daughter/friend/etc.) you have. You show how reflecting on what your values are, balanced with your goals, can help you visualize what path, or paths, need to be taken. You've put a smile on my face today! Ok - you asked for a life update from the Marmy?! How sweet and kind of you to ask.... I've always been the career focused one, traveling since before and after having our kid. My husband put his career on hold to care for her while I was traveling. Finally after 20 years of my hubby and I being together, he's back in full career mode, looking ahead and building his future career goals, and I am the one who is home. And I love it! We always joked with each other that he was the wife and I was the husband but we know that gender roles no longer have such an antiquated framework. We decided together what we wanted and did what was best for our family. Tough choices and tough times we've had, and still dealing with, but it's all worth it because of what our values and goals are, and how we've shifted them to meet life's challenges. We both work full time with this recent change, but now it's work to live, not live to work. We both really enjoy what we do, and where we both work. Our daughter is still young but very driven and independent. She's old enough, though, to be part of the family discussion on the changes for her dad, especially because it's been the two of them together most of the time because of my career. Making these changes included family discussions, all 3 of us talking about the practical and logistics details, as well as the emotional considerations. We were not raised like that, so demonstrating to our kid how to have those conversations is important. She gave all her input, told us all her thoughts and feeling about the impending changes. And now that we are only a couple weeks into them, she's risen to the challenge of change. We know she's capable of managing how all of this impacts her, and we are engaged and active parents on a daily basis. We are also a close family, we are each other's support. But she's demonstrated a maturity and even a new level of independence that has far surpassed our expectations. We are so proud of her, inspired by her. How grateful we are for how she's growing up, doing so much to help us, and herself. Having a family, we knew, would be rewarding some days, and of course there are tough days too, but I wish someone told me the potential for such enjoyment and - wow - so much fun too! I've shifted my life goals in the past few years, with my husband's encouragement to do things that give me enjoyment and focused on self identity and self-care, rather than me trying so hard (and feeling awful) to be a wife, and mom and career person. If one area was ok, the rest were a mess, or I was struggling in all of them. I lost me along the way, and helped me with awareness. My daughter snd spouse comment on how I've changed,, in a good way, of course! My hubby's support over the years has helped me be prepared so I can support him and our family for such a big change. We are truly partners, he is my best friend,. My daughter and I have a cute girlfriend/mom relationship that is heartwarming to experience, and that I am grateful to have. I never used to enjoy being in the kitchen, I would cook, of course, but now I enjoy it. It's my relaxation time, I can be creative and try new things (many inspired by your videos and vlogs), and my family loves the food I make (or so they say - lol!). I'm loving the shift, I love seeing the smiles on my husband's face, watching him and our daughter discussing the day, playing their favorite video game when there's downtime, us helping her with any homework questions she has (he helps her with the STEM components, and I'm the social studies, fine arts, language arts - team work!), or just us chillin' and watching our favorite shows or a movie. She comes to us with her school progress, updating us on her school work. She has her things she does just with her dad and some her and I do together, and the 3 of us have a whole different set of fun activities we enjoy together. I feel like I'm peaking in and watching a beautiful scene sometimes in those simple life moments. I feel like I have to pinch myself - how lucky am I?! An amazing gift is here in front of me, and I offer gratitude every day, multiple times a day, for what a blessing tihis family is, and our life is. I'm also grateful for the lovely new friends I've made in recent years, and the long lasting friendships I'm blessed to have. I can see how kind you are, how you interact with your kids and your husband, how he is your partner, how you are with your parents and sister, extended family and friends. I see your gratitude, especially in the tough moments, and we only see a tiny sliver of what life is really like for you. So now I offer my gratitude for you, to you. Watching your vlogs is part of my self care and mental health routine, and these have helped me so much in this ongoing journey of life. I am humbled. Have an inspiring day. (Sorry this was so long!) ❤
  • Congrats! Happy you are doing what makes you happy! Also try drinking green tea 🍵 a couple of times in day that helps with cholesterol health.
