Alan’s Report From Düsseldorf As England Progress | EURO 2024

Published 2024-07-08
How do England improve again after a more encouraging performance against Switzerland? Do they bring Marc Guéhi back in or stick with Ezri Konsa for the semi-final? Are we still leaving substitutions too late to have a proactive impact on the game?

Gary, Alan and Micah discuss Big Al’s trip to Düsseldorf and Cologne and how England are shaping up for the business end of the tournament.

as someone who felt you guys were too positive in regards to england it doesn;t change the fact that this pod has been fantastic and something a lot of us have looked forward to every day during the euros

Micah looks like he’s playing in a poker tournament!
  • @craigchez
"It was either that or I feel a semi coming on" 😂 love when Shearers Goerdieness comes out
  • @dylsingh
Really enjoyed these podcasts every day of the tournament! Filling in the long gaps between the games really nicely. Thanks lads/team for everything that's gone into this!
  • @johnnyboy2268
As soon as I heard 'pressure is for tyres' commentary on TV, I knew this would be iconic. I mean in a special moment like that, that commentary is just hilarious. Love it
  • @DaveMothersdale
Kane was objectively dire, epitomised when Saka was played in, beat his man, crossed the ball and Kane was still on the edge of the 18 open mouthed and had barely moved 6ft.
  • @neilmishra5328
Shearer thank you for mentioning what Kane wasn’t doing and being honest as that wasn’t even mentioned by Gary and Micah yesterday. Kanes knackered
  • @Bennyboy138
It’s annoying that as good as Saka was at beating players and getting to the byline we have Anthony Gordon who can do exactly the same on the left but we don’t use him

Shout out to mainoo and especially konsa... it's not easy coming into a game like that... it's high stakes and your game has to be tight...he did well so well i wouldn't have a problem if he started again
  • @512Squared
The shirt matches the brightness of his smile and personality 😆
  • Supporting my team England's been stressfull lately 😂 but honestly tuning it to watch Lineker, Shearer and Big Meeks then doing a round at the overlap with Gary Neville, Keano and Wrighty. Watching Rio and his boys as well. Honestly you guys are giving us fans regular doses of joy & laughter. Thanks alot and we appreciate you . With love all the way from Tanzania ❤
  • You guys have transformed the euros from a dreary England campaign to a well rounded, insightful watch along with great laughs, anecdotes and an incredibly personal atmosphere. PLEASE, consider trying to form a weekly Premier League roundup like this, if only match of the day was in this format, we would all be delighted and incredibly lucky. Edit: by "like this", I am eluding to the fact that I gather that premier league roundup podcasts aren't conducted in person (and instead virtually). I will absolutely be tuning in next season regardless, but if it were evolved into an in person podcast like this, wowowow.

When Alan said Pressure is for Tyres probs one of the best lines of commentary ever 🔥
