LG C1 OLED vs Samsung QN90A QLED - High-End Model fight!

The LG C1 OLED and the Samsung QN90A QLED are both excellent TVs, but they use different panels. The LG is an OLED with a near-infinite contrast ratio, nearly instant response time, and wide viewing angles. The Samsung has a VA panel, so it still has an excellent contrast ratio, but its viewing angles are only decent. OLEDs don't get as bright as LED TVs, and the Samsung uses Mini LED backlighting, allowing it to get exceptionally bright and making it better suited to very bright rooms.

PRICE EXPLANATION: At the start of the video we show the prices we paid for each product to be transparent with you about how we work. The prices we paid are higher because of the added costs of getting the TV from the USA to Canada where our offices are located. In terms of current retail costs today, the 55" C1 is available for $1299 (regular $1499) and the 55" Samsung QN90A is available for $1499 (regular $1599).

I've seen a lot of comparisons between these 2 TV and this one is clearly the best and clearly answer the ultimate question depending on your setup. Thank you!
  • @davidclixby5840
I have the Samsung QLED 55inch QN90A and it’s a great tv especially for gaming and all round performance, I am really happy with it.
  • Just want to thank you guys for helping me earlier the year to chose between the LG CX and the Samsung Q80 and I went with the LG CX
  • @tomdrums4607
I did a frequency range test on my 83 inch c1 and the bass extends down to 50 Hz. It really does sound like a decent soundbar without a sub.
  • @robbyrockets1
Love my two CX OLEDs, 48 inch and a 65 inch. Beautiful for movies and gaming.
  • @Supernova094
Have a 65" QN90A in hall and 48" C1 in bedroom ( dimly lit ) and both are amazing at what they do.
  • @Sir_Mack
I ordered the 85" qn90a on black Friday for $3200 straight from Samsungs website. Super excited and can't wait!
  • @richardr5888
I love both and both have strengths and weaknesses. I chose the 85 inch QN90A because the OLED anywhere close to that size was way out of my budget compared to the deal I got with Samsung. Burn in, whether still an issue or not, still weighs on me since the TV is on while I'm not home (the dog gets spoiled and my old 60 inch Sharp has been on every day on average for 16-18 hours a day for the last 11 years). Besides cost for size, I love retina searing brightness. Don't ask why as it's just a personal preference. Also, what's with so many movies now shooting such dark scenes? Even the brightest TV's have trouble with these scenes- and I find myself straining to see details. Please don't tell me it's calibration because the same movies have the same issues in movie theaters. Anyway, my TV has to serve duty in a living room that can be bright, dark, or in-between so I also need the versatility of the Samsung. Your needs may differ, but as long as your choice fits your needs and you are happy with it, then that's all that matters. I wish every person understood that with all things purchased. Maybe there would be less bashing for everything reviewed.
  • @am_ma
Thank you very much for that that was very informative.
  • @xm3405
C1 is best for a dark room home theatre setup and QN90a is best if you want HDR imoact and plan to use it in a living room.
  • @joeglennaz
Thank you I’ve been wondering about the difference between these two TVs in particular and the difference in the two technologies.
  • @InvaderZiim
Looking to get the Q90, I'm terrified of burn-in lol, but glad to see some people have no issues with it. I play too many games with static huds to take the chance.
  • @robbell8507
I have an LG C183 and it has been an excellent TV thus far. I have about 1,500 hours on the TV. This TV is plenty bright and the picture is excellent. I game and watch movies and I would buy the same TV again. I highly recommend this TV!
  • @giotorres9848
I have 75 q90t and 65 c1 both tv r beast and u cant go wrong with either one
  • Got my 48” C1 today. The graphics on ps5 and series x are unbelievable. My vizio oled was okay for a while but had too many issues and the TV wouldn’t register remote inputs anymore. Glad I pulled the trigger on this one! $200.00 off at best buy too, so couldn’t turn it down.
  • Hi, I think you forgot to analyse HDMI ports specification, in details, like bandwidth, features, HDMI 2.1 fully compliant or not etc... For exemple, could I use these TVs as computer monitor, at the maximum definition, maximum refresh rate and maximum HDR level, all in the same time, without artefacts (like displaying forced to 4:2:2 which is uncompatible with that specific usage) ??? And, according to the display technology of these TVs, should I use these TVs as computer monitor ? Thank you !

I'm looking to replace a Panasonic Plasma 50" with either of these tv's. I've never had an issue with brightness in the room it is in. So, am I right to assume that the LG C1 would be closer to mimicking the Plasma in terms of blacks and contrast? We watch mostly streaming shows, some movies and tennis :-) The ambient light are three lamps set low. During the day, one big window and two little; only in the winter when light is low do we have issues and we pull curtains. Great review too. Best I've seen in about five months of "deciding." (I'm watching prices right now as the run up toward the religious experience for most people known as the Super Bowl).
