In the year 2000, Bandai released 4 series of Digimon trading cards, and one of these series is so rare that nobody has ever even seen a photo of it. I tried to track one down. Enjoy!

That reveal was insane. I went from "yeah, of course he wouldn't spend 6k on a card... How responsible of him" to "of course he bought the card, how silly of me" so fast
  • Kurtis spending $5900 on a video with no sponsor really shows how devoted he is to digimon
  • @kerlsey7584
kurtis is the neurodivergent representation we’ve all needed in our lives
  • i’m not a collector of really any kind, but it still hurts my heart to think of how much of this stuff must have ended up in the trash from parents cleaning out their kids’ rooms
  • The joy I felt when Kurtis revealed that he bought the 5900 card... Priceless! Well, I guess, not totally priceless.
  • Kurtis Conner is the only person who could get me to watch a 26 minute video on Digimon.
  • @imdoneplus
When Kurtis says “have one” @24:45 I can just feel his amazement and joy. As a collector of things that people also may not be able to fully appreciate, I wanna let you know man, I appreciate your joy!
  • As a fellow Digimon kid who still owns cards, I thank Kurtis for his endeavours to uncover Digimon history🙏
  • @Tymbus
Kurtis goes on a fantastic journey across time and space. There's sadness, suspense, loss, trumph, hopes raised and dashed and an awesome ending. Someone should adapt this for the big screen.
  • @taewae
there's really nothing more wholesome than an entire video all about someone's ultra-specific niche interest and watching them be super excited about it... love this genre of youtube lol
  • @SplitMaw
"Alright, so we've got the book here. Hopefully the video ends here-" Mouses over the watch-bar and sees that the video indeed does not end there Also, holy shit. My heart stopped when Kurtis held up the blister pack. As a fellow ND person who hyper fixates on their interests, the sheer amount of excitement I felt for him getting that pack was dizzying. That's a huge W, and I'm so happy for him. I can't imagine how pleasing it must be to own all the waves like that.

This is honestly fascinating and makes me feel a little more normal about my own collections. And the money I've spent on them
  • @franzdotcom
The fact bro spent that much money on a sponsorless video about something that won’t get him as much views shows his pure passion and love and that’s awesome
  • @shinesnakee
Kurtis could make a 6 hour video essay on the Pythagorean’s Theorem and I would watch the whole thing.
  • @peterbissett5639
I genuinely just love hearing him talk about things he’s passionate about. Especially because with something like digemon, it does take a decent amount of confidence and comfort in the things you like
  • Eric (digischnitzel) seems like such a chill dude! Glad you were able to solve this mystery, king!!!
  • @HeisenbergFam
Kurtis is like an innocent looking side character in a show who ends up being the master manipulator behind everything
  • @kedo
I don’t have any connection to digimon or even Pokémon but this story arc of you unable to even find a picture to literally owning one was incredible…you deserve to be king right now 👑

As a fellow adult collector (not of Digimon, but of dolls), I loved this video! I think we should normalize adults collecting stuff from their childhood more, plus it's always fascinating to see what it's like inside different collector communities :)
