Arguably the most influential song ushering in ROCK AND ROLL, and I was a witness.

"Wash yo' face and hands." An important message for our times

Y’all won’t believe this but in 2013 this song shut the prom down I requested this song to be played and when I say every one got turned up !! And lost their minds ! It was amazing I had never seen the kids so amazed and intrigued the really enjoyed themselves and it was just a remarkable sight to see this generation embrace a whole new culture so willingly and unashamed!!

I am now 76 years old. I still remember dancing to this song when I was a young man out on the town looking to get down. Great TIMES.
-
It breaks my heart that Big Joe doesn't get the credit and respect he so deserves. The man was one of the greatest from the Golden Age of Rock 'n Roll.
-
True fact: to check whether you still have a soul, they play this song and if you don't start to groove, they check the time to write it on your death certificate.
-
"You wear those dresses, sun come shinin' through".
-
This is the original and the best version.
-
I remember this song and we would stop at the red lights get out snd dance on the street. 50's and 60's. Great Generation and music.!!!
-
At least the backrooms entities have a taste in music
-
Joe Turner was one of the pioneers of rhythm and blues. This song is one of his many classics.
-
My dad used to play this EVERY Sunday after we had all settled down from church. Hearing it now is just the same as hearing it then.
-
'I cant believe my eyes, all that mess belongs to you..." this line gets sanitized in most cover versions..
-
2022 and still way better than today's so called music..
-
I was 8, heard this song from a car passing by and was hooked on rhythm and blues, then rock and roll, then progressive rock. I was white in a very segregated town in Oklahoma and my favorite artists were black. Music unites people.

I'm like a one eyed cat peeping in a seafood store 😆🤣😂😹😆🤣😂😹😆
-
Atlantic rhythm and blues . Pure rock n roll back when it all began
-
DIS IS STILL THE REAL DEAL IN 2019.

There is not a singer alive today who can even strive to match this amazing man and his amazing voice.
