Never a fan of Kpop and I'm not familiar with any of them but when I saw Blackpink performing for the first time, this woman caught my attention, I honestly had no idea about them that time, but she was the one who stood out for me. Why? The very first time I saw them, they were just sitting while singing, and I knew right then and there that this woman was the only one among them who is musically inclined...I am a musician and songwriter myself, and there is something about songwriters that you could easily pinpoint who's who even when they are just singing. Even when she wasn't playing guitar, you could tell by the way she makes runs on her notes, the way she executes those subtleties on her tone and vocals, her transitions from lows to mids to highs, the dynamics she displays, the way she commands her lines like she owns and wrote them, etc.,you could easily tell this woman is a singer-songwriter...I'm not discrediting the other three members, but they are more of a performer to me and not someone who could create something from scratch on their own
