Jeremy was also the best Maxim De Winter in the BBC Rebbecca 1979. His Holmes is sublime and unsurpassed. I could listen to his voice all day. Goodnight Sweet Prince.....
  • He is so humble the way he speaks of his characterization of Holmes. I don't think he realized just how wonderfully amazing he was and that the public viewed him as the best quintessential Holmes ever!

For me personally I could listen to him talking endlessly for hours acting or not, every delivery is timeless, has a meaning and a reasoning behind it, his English and his class were second to none! RIP, Sir !

I just adore the way he so eloquently expresses himself. What a classy gentleman

Just finished his biography. So many insights into his childhood, his family, his horrid time at Eton, his Rheumatic fever, his personal relationships, and of course, his battle with bipolar disorder. It’s amazing he accomplished so much in his 61 years. An amazing actor, family man, and humble person at that. He was a generous, thoughtful, kind soul. Simply amazing that we were lucky enough share an Earthly portion with him, on the ribbon of time.🌹
  • They say, you can't fall in love with the voice. Well, they definitely never heard Jeremy Brett.
  • Love Sherlock "Jeremy Brett" Holmes. He's the only actor to make Holmes a loveable human being, he went beyond the novel and added his character and compassion to the role. Sherlock ends at Brett. No one will surpass his representation.

Jeremy Brett is by far the best Holmes. He was taken too young but gave us much...

I read the books as a teenger and fell in love with them. Then, many many years later I found Brett on youtube and finally saw the Granada series. He absolutely matched the Holmes in my mind. He took the source material and poured himself into that shape. To me, Jeremy is Holmes.
  • The baton may be passed to other actors, but Jeremy broke the mold for this character! BEST. SHERLOCK. EVER. RIP🙏
  • Jeremy Brett was Amazing and left a legacy that will never be equaled again. He as lady Doyle said To Brett , He was the Holmes of my Childhood!!!!! Brett said after hearing this he had a bottle of Champagne. That says it all. What a Genius of a Actor and What a Incredible human being Jeremy Was. He is so missed. He was Holmes. Jeremy I know your in Heaven with Edward Hardwicke smiling down on us knowing your Holmes lives on forever. Thank you for this Amazing interview.

No finer Sherlock Holmes has ever been played, and indeed, shall ever be played, as has been by Jeremy Brett. All other incarnations, past and future, shall be pale imitations, mere ghosts of the detective of 221b Baker Street. You shall be greatly missed, Mr. Brett. Requiescat in pace.
  • Whenever I read a Sherlock Holmes mystery I always envision Jeremy Brett, Bravo!
  • @leonita2252
No one even close to this magnificent man ever!!, Love you Jeremy ❤️❤️❤️❤️, Rest in peace our beloved hero ❤️❤️
  • I love how true to the character he was. Didn't try to make it his own just went straight on the source material

Without Watson, Holmes could not exist in space and time. Holmes is ill suited for life amongst humans. Watson provides a key to open the door to that which Holmes cannot understand or tolerate. Watson feels privileged to be a part of Holmes' life. They truly love one another like David and Jonathan.
  • That torch was passed on definitely however, the torch is pretty much burned out because Jeremy Brett is no longer here and I am watching the series Once Again from my childhood. I was such a huge fan when the show originally came on back in the 80s and 90s. That I couldn't help but Watch it again. And it's amazing. I still remember the day when Jeremy Brett died back in September of 1995. As far as I'm concerned, he will always be Sherlock Holmes.
  • Wow... the beautiful voice of Jeremy... the unmistakable heavenly, Majestic, and baritone voice... ❤️
