The two most shocking ones that come to mind first are the Chargers with the #1 offense and #1 defense... like how was their special teams so bad that they missed the playoffs??? And then the 11-5 Patriots. Yeah they didn't have Brady, but 11 wins and missing the playoffs is just wild
  • Throwback game options for this week: Seahawks/49ers: 2013 NFC Championship Game Bills/Dolphins: 1998 AFC Wild Card Game Giants/Vikings: 1993 NFC Wild Card Game

Imagine if the 2010 chargers special team wasn't so abysmal

The 2010 Chargers are one of the biggest anomalies in NFL history to me. Although that entire division was arguably just as strange because the division winning Chiefs only had a 2-4 divisional record and clearly looked like an inferior team while the third-place Raiders swept the entire division.

2017 Ravens are also up there. Defense got 3 shutouts during the year and they only missed the postseason because in week 17 they were shocked at home by the Bengals, giving the Bills the 6 seed

Thanks for including the '76 Bengals...most folks never knew or have forgotten about how close those '73-'77 Bengals were to greatness...but, the Dolphins, Steelers & Raiders were truly the great teams of that era when the AFC was king.

I would also throw in the 2007 10-6 Browns in there as well.

I remember that 1986 Seattle Seahawks Team as I was 3 years old and I remember 😭😭 so much between my uncle telling me the bad news about Our Seahawks, My Grandpa having his 3rd & final open heart surgery (would pass away in January 1988) Rough year but do remember the fond times watching football even at that early age. Nice Video
  • I will always remember the 2007 Browns, going 10-6 but missing the playoffs. That team seems like an aberration, considering the misery the Browns would experience in the next decade.
  • I remember the 2004 Bills, first year I was a fan of them. McGee was dynamite at kick returner. 0-4 start, then go 9-3 the rest of the way.

2014 Chiefs: Went 9-7, top 5 defense, and beat both teams that went to the Superbowl that year
  • @BStoxy
2008 Patriots for sure even with Matt Cassel. I believe the only 11 win team to ever miss the playoffs

The 91 Eagles won 10 games with just defense. You'd have to think that if Randall is healthy they win at least 2 more of those games. Especially loses to Tampa where they had to start Brad Goebel & The Saints who they lost to by a TD. Sadly that may have been that teams best chance at a Super Bowl as Keith Jackson left via free agency the next season & they lost Jerome Brown in a tragic auto accident. The team was gutted by free agency and injuries the next two seasons.

18:02 good to see "Never Fair Catch Josh Cribbs" in the video, if you're not familiar with him, it's because the best returner of all time Hester played in the same time period
  • Charles “Peanut” Tillman is responsible for the starting the “peanut punches” when forcing turnovers!

The 1986 Seahawks also beat both combatants that were in that years Super Bowl.
