Still remember being 12 on a select soccer team, very competitive, and then seeing Freddy Adu, 14, pro debut on espn like 😮 I'll never be a real athlete will I dad? What? No, thats impossible. 😂
  • In fairness to Christian Pulisic at 7:54 he does have 30 goals in 71 international appearances. He's scored in two World Cup Qualifying cycles, as well as a Gold Cup and a Copa America, plus multiple Nations League Finals
  • So kids can act? But kids can’t play sports? What’s the youngest for the Olympics? Technically no age limit to compete… sounds like some fans just pissed they got smoked

”When we get beat down by the f’ing Mo-zam-bique”.
  • Love seeing the young talent in football. If this kid can eventually move to Europe and compete at the highest level. Definitely going to be an amazing addition to the USMNT.

I love that Pat played and respects the beautiful game. If he converts a handful of his demographic to gaining an interest in the game that is a win for the game in the states. Thanks Pat!
  • The Old Lefthander, Joe Nuxhall..at 15 years old, rounding third and heading to the Reds during WWII with the fortitude and grace to stay with us over 60 years pretty much through Griffey Jr. ..."and that's a high fly ball, way back, back, back, under it is Larkin near 2nd base to end the inning." Thanks for the summer harmonies, Nuxie. Rest easy.

Guys, watch out with your comments. He's eligible to represent Germany at the international level. Don't chase off our best talent.

Pennsylvania law includes provisions for minors employed as performers in television, film, radio, or theater, as well as in professional sports. These exemptions allow minors to work outside the standard hours and conditions, provided certain requirements are met. Didn't break laws. They had the proper permits.
  • you can get a work permit at 14...i got my first job at 14...at a car wash lol...
  • 14 years 293 days? Ezekiel Rivera just signed for the LA Dodgers at 14 years 5 months. Thats around 4 months younger than Cavan.
  • @af72332
Really gotta get him on the World Cup roster for 2026... he can be like our Yamal

Whatever happened to working papers? When I was 12 I was able to get working papers in NY, and I am not some old ass grandpa, this was 2000. It was a white card that stated how much I was allowed to work in any given pay period depending on if it was during the school year or the summer and the types of jobs I was allowed to do. I was cleaning out shipping containers at the port. When I was 14 I was able to get the blue card working papers which allowed me to work more hours and more types of jobs. When you turn 15 you get a pink card which allows you to work even more hours and even more jobs. Then at 16 you didn't need working papers and could work up to 40 hours. At 18 you were clear to work as much as you needed to.

Berhalter has been holding the USMNT back for the last 6 years. Now is the time for hope.
  • He’s definitely not the youngest professional ever. There was a kid that was playing for Celtic in Scotland that was 13 years old.
