  • As a fan of domestics for the last 25+ years, I have got to admit the sound of that motor is heavenly. How could you not love that sound? I think I'm slowly creeping to the dark side (JDM)
  • @NoDoSwLa
Just wonderful. I remember, back when I've learned as a mechanic, one of the vocational teachers said that at around 6500-7000RPM in most combustion engines the valves start to chatter etc. and it's not healthy..."but that doesn't count for Honda engines. I don't know how, but they manage to do more" He said that with a smile of course :D
  • I raced on the nurburgring a few years ago with my friend's honda civic ek4 b16a2 with over 480,000 km on the odometer, original engine, no tuning, absurd to still be able to pull the rev limiter with so many km. one of the best engines ever built!
  • I am a hardcore fan of Honda, i own a S2000 but honestly, seeing the EK9 with this mileage and works perfectly... it's amazing. I love this car !
  • @lotvs_eater
Watching Misha accommodating to VTEC and high-revving drive style - priceless. Maybe we"ll see more Hondas in the future?
  • My dc2 had over 200,000 miles on it and was a UK factory stock car. On the Dyno it made 190bhp. That's crazy considering its age and milage as they were only 190 ish new.
  • @rockyroad1780
This man has great tastes! My DC2 has 350,000km and is still going strong - sadly no ring trips for me in 2022 but I’ll be back out next year!
  • @talhaasim1710
Misha Surprised to see Japanese Cars going past 300k kms without engine Rebuild 😂🗿. JDM for win anyday everyday all-day
  • 🤩 thank you so much for posting this Misha. My good friend had one like this but in super mint condition, the whole feel of the driving experience in this car is unexplainable. I am sure you understand what the meaning when Vtec kicks in 😁 you don't only feel it but hear the scream
  • Nice! I hope to take my Integra dc2 on the Nurburgring asphalt soon too🇯🇵🫡
  • @Razyre
I have an FN2 type R with over 240,000 miles (~386,000km) and it still doesn't skip a beat... Bought it as a cheap run around while I bought a house. The K20 is a masterpiece of an engine. I can't quite believe it's not dead yet. Redline it basically every time I take it out 🤣

Lot's of misinformation in these comments. The VTEC point 6100 is correct for the B16B engine, it can of course be lowered with a remap, usually to around 5200 optimally. VTEC controllers on their own are useless as they lower the VTEC point without adjusting the fuelling. Honda keep the VTEC point deliberately high for an agressive cam change over, which is sub optimal but a fun selling point. The car likely hasn't lost any power, it's hampered by low torque and longer gearing from the S4C box. Also having a passenger makes a huge difference in these, Misha would have had a better time driving alone. For the Nurburgring an EUDM or JDM 98 spec DC2 integra with an extra 200cc and the shorter geared S80 box would probably be a better experience, though the B16B is fun in it's own right. They're quite amazing engines really, what other manufacturer can build an engine that lasts so long at those RPMs without ever having to be opened. I'll bet this one likes a good drink of oil though 😀
  • @mooiboyace
Such an awesome little machine .. one of the best Hot Hatches EVER made !
  • @EE9Civic
Sounds great. Miss my B16b. They are best when modded, full intake, exhaust and a remap and there is less lag before crossover, mine made 194hp on stock internals. I never got bored of revving it out to 8800RPM.
  • @netmatrix75
VTEC Kicked in moment at 9:23. Anyway with that kind of mileage, capability maybe Apex can have one of these in their taxi lineup. The maintenance savings would be massive! 😁
  • @Tiaan90
God I miss my B-series Civic EG9 when watching this 😁 Also, this car with a final drive ratio somewhere around 4.7 instead of stock 4.4 would be a weapon around Nurburgring! Have to use all the rev range at all times though 😄 Stock it's aimed more towards tracks like Tsukuba with tight 2nd gear corners.

I love this era of Honda. Instead of just mashing the pedal in an automatic car with lots of power down low, you have to be incredibly aware of your momentum, your weight, your revs, what gear you're in, and how much speed you can carry through the corner. It's stuff you can forget about slightly when you have so much power to compensate for any lack of driving ability. I would love to see this guy come back with some more modifications done, or even a turbo and let Mischa go out again. And since these cars are so sensitive to weight, possibly let him go alone. You guys with low powered cars know what I'm talking about. Even a child slows you down. 😆
  • Excellent content. It's amazing to see a car that everyone can afford that survives longer than any one of the hypercars could possibly hope to. Thank you very much for this video.
  • @eddohan
Fast? No, but fun? Yes! edit: My EP3 is still going, around 328.000km at this moment. Take care of the engine by warming up(and oil changes ofc) and it will last a long time!
