  • We don’t need to be an expert on the Middle East to know the difference between self defence and genocide.
  • What an idiotic, inhumane question "why are they protesting? what makes Palestian cool?" and then the most disgusting response "social media fame".... conversations like this are very enlightening because you see how a fascistic mind, numb to human suffering and racist, can appear normal and reasonable.
  • "small movement" of "a cadre of highly ideological students" is exactly how the protests against the Vietnam war started. Just go talk to the majority of the protesting students to see why they're protesting - the majority aren't "pro Palestinian" any more than their Vietnam counterparts were "pro Vietnamese" They are and were against paying for indiscriminate murder of children, regardless of national or ethnic origin.
  • Back when we had only a few mainstream news sources you could get away with this kind of bland or anodyne discussion, and take a paternalistic stance while casually dismissing legitimate dissent by demeaning youth. That no longer works…we see exactly what is happening in Gaza in real time. No one is throwing away their career and future for the sake of cos-play. David Frum is usually a staunch defender of free speech rights on campus but he has a massive blind spot here.
  • @mbindwane
David is minimising the students consciousness. It’s a mistake.
  • I do support the right for Israel to exist. I no longer support the IDF. You cannot label someone an 'anti semite' just because they criticise the Israeli government.
  • @xenon6947
It is not Antisemitism to criticise Apartheid Israel. You can hide genocide with false Antisemitism allegations.
  • @godzonic
I'm glad the comment section is on. Thank you for allowing community interaction
  • Wow, David "The Bush Administration Apologist" Frum! Where did he crawl out of? After the Iraq War, do you really want to take him seriously?😂
  • I am south american, educated in Canada, or better say, indoctrinated in Canada, being against genocide, is not, is not, anti semitism, the Palestinian genocide is today the most recorded genocide in history and yet, people like you, talking about extremism is negating what is happening. The ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian is an extreme situation, dont't you think?
  • Basically against Trump because he farts (so distastful, right?), but so close to his politics.
  • @Enetrebrab
This man holds no currency and is out of touch on this subject. You are obviously ignorant on the history of colonial British stealing Palestine in a response to their own antisemitism. The young are learning of this historical injustice. This is not going away.
  • @millig5318
Was this interview written by the Irgun or the Stern Gang?
  • Two arrogant "know it alls" on the wrong side of history.
  • You guys are so disconnected from reality, no wonder you supported the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
  • @drnono3386
Remembering all those lost to the world forever, let their memories be a blessing. To the hostages kidnapped Oct 7 - let us remember them every minute of every day, bring them home.
  • The students I have heard speak are incredibly committed and articulate. I’m this is a better way to approach the issue. I think that the hardline that was just not really a good idea.
  • @ABAKABAK1
David is right. Jewish dilemma is (and always have been) : "how to integrate and not assimilate". But it is assimilation (not apartheid) that is a solution to the "Jewish question".
  • @RS-uh7rz
Wonderful, heartening, discussion. I hope Biden's policy staff are paying attention to Mr. Frum.
