Now that i've heard of your ambition to have artillery in every settlement, i also have that ambition..
  • @matt4048
Even with artillery cannons everywhere, there is one place that they cannot reach - the far corners of the Glowing Sea. Learned that the hard way when trying to defeat the deathclaw outside Virgils cave.

I officially want more of these simple, template-y designs. Thank you, Oxhorn.
  • @thedarkercarter
Oxhorn I blame you for making me obsessed with FO4 again ;D

So I'm doing my third play through as the minutemen, and all of your videos are so amazing! So glad I found your channel! Your video of why the minutemen are the best for humanity was so cool my dude! Really excited to start leveling more and building up all my settlements.

The long railings only snap centered to the tops of the full wall pieces, it doesn't have anchor points for the half walls

I just got my castle settlement, so I definitely plan on building some artillery cannons there. Thanks Osborn!

This is why i love the minutemen faction i can blow any enemy with there artillery.
  • Wow I Never Knew You Could Do That With The DLC This Is A Great Video I'm Going To Use This In A Future Build For The MinuteMen That Uses Settlements As A Support Unit I Might Use This With My Raider Warlord That I'm Using So I Can Demolish Any Competition If They Threaten My Empire Thanks So Much Oxhorn From Your #1 Fan

4:46 hahaha aww I felt so bad for you. Typical, isn't it? Show something that usually works and it suddenly won't cooperate!
  • @LABullDaddy
I discovered your wonderful videos a few months back when I finally started playing Fallout 4 and your voice sounded very familiar. After some thought I realized it reminded me of Alec Mapa's character Suzuki St. Pierre in Ugly Betty. Anyone ever tell you that you sound like him? Great tutorials, btw. You are my go-to for all things Fallout 4. THANKS!
  • Very slick. I may have to "borrow" this idea for some of my settlements.
  • @CounterNerd
6:12 the cause of why you can't place it there is because you were standing too close to the piece you were trying to place, just an fyi! Your character takes up a certain amount of space as well, so next time try keeping your distance from where you are trying to place a certain item.
  • with your longer version, you cal use a full wall if I am not mistaken (game is not on this computer, so I can not test it at the moment.) but I am assuming such to be the case since you could use a full size floor. this being the case, if you are not setting it up someplace that requires you to partially bury it you could replace one of the side wall sections with a door frame and metal door providing a small bunker under the mortar. this room could be used for a single bed (maybe a bunk bed) for the artillery crew, or for ammo storage. a lot of options. I like your platform design. I already like to put at least one gun at each settlement... many settlements get a full battery of 4 mortars. (fitch farm, grey garden, nordhagen beach, sunshine... each are fairly strategic locations and have the room for a full battery). additionally I like to have 5 at the castle, and 1-2 at every other settlement. I even use a mod that opens interior spaces at hangmans alley and allows one to build on the roof for a small area on the diamond city side, so I will place one up there allowing me to shell pretty much any part of downtown boston should I feel the need. (I have never tried this inside diamond city, and do not think it is possible as diamond city interior appears to be a remote cell. as best I could tell last time I got to that apartment on the wall and looked around.) I also can not speak for the range as an artillery mod I use increases the overall range of a mortar... (with 4 at fitch farms, one at greentop, and one at the slogs (both of which have enough land available to place at least 2 mortars if I wanted without disrupting daily operations but the platform at fitch is really more than enough), ye know it has got to suck for them when I start lobbing smoke into the gunners at the wrecking yard, or the quarry :) looking at a map and recalling that the artillery range is 5 grid squares, it looks like much of the glowing sea is out of range., but most anywhere int he rest of the map is within range of at least one settlement. Further the prydwen appears to be just barely out of range of fitch farm, croup manner and spectacle island, but within range of the castle, nordhagen, county cross, and bunker hill. And for the retaliation for blowing up the prydwen, castle is in range of Jamaca plain, Spectacle, the warwick farm, and MAYBE nordhagen (I doubt this last one, I suspect they are JUST out of range)... use caution when shelling attacking institute or BoS as if you have a goodly bit of artillery surrounding the castle those barrages can last a while, and your own men may run into the rain of shells. additionally the Quincey Ruins are within range of the castle (best I can tell) the warwick farm, Jamaca Plain, and the murk water, but are probably JUST out of range of spectacle island... that can rain down a lot of hell on the traitor chris and his gunner friends :) Happy Hunting folks.

When he fell and starting saying "ahah ahah" has me laughing so hard ๐Ÿ˜‚

Lol awesome Idea. I use almost the same thing in some settlements. I use your 2 half wall (or 1 full wall) version. I put a door in one side and make it look like lil storage and rest spot with a table, a chair, and a radio on the table for the artillery person. If I don't use it I make an artillery tower. Usually about 3 stories or so. I used to make the stairs and such inside but I may make a smaller version now with the contraptions workshop scaffolding stairs. Love your Graygarden rework by the way!!!! I've been wanting to redo the bottom part with train cars and an elevator. With your scaffolding idea it gave me more ideas lol. I built the settler homes on the overpass with the buses before contraptions. They will walk around to the ramp entrance even though it is outside the settlement zone. Now with elevators they won't have to walk around anymore. As for the artillery, I think you only need one in each settlement. On PS4 I put 2 in almost every settlement, Xbox I put a mixture of 1 and 2, and on PC I've only put 1 each settlement. Any more than that is overkill anyways lol. Each settlement nearby adds the artillery anyways. On Xbox I did 1 in small/medium settlements and 2 in large ones. Oh and If you can't stand Marcy... put her on an artillery in a way off corner somewhere in Sanctuary and you'll never have to listen to her grump much anymore lol
