The comic book adaptation made the sensible decision to start the story as a prequel about Roland's backstory (with some new and expanded content), and it ran for dozens of issues until it got to The Gunslinger.

The Dark Tower was the first large story that I finished alongside Harry Potter (due to the books releasing side by side-ish). Truly a masterpiece in my eyes and was my favorite story until I read Worm. I have been looking forward to you all doing this series! Long days and pleasant nights!

Thank you for doing this podcast! I love the discussions. One thing that blew my mind was the definition of the name Walter. So Walter O'Dim could mean something like "leader of the army of darkness" 🤯 I look forward to listening to more. Starting part 2 now. This series is in my top 2 of all time!

4 times I've been there 🙂once read and thrice heard, amazing on audio fair play. I've read this series twice & enjoyed it equally each time. I'm really enjoying this podcast. I'll just say for the first time reader that you will not predict these books so just read it & enjoy the amazing character & story development.
