I am African and even then I was cheering for Rooks, an absolutely great race, it's what the Olympics is about

Amazing watching that Kenneth Rooks race. I'll remember that one forever.

Also consider that he took two years off from running to serve a mission, part of it in Uganda and part in the US due to covid.

Rooks takes down east africa in steeplechase. How incredible.
  • The XC system in Scotland is excellent and college coaches should take a close look at that. It’s good across GB but it’s very concentrated in Scotland.

Altitude training was around in the 70’s…. lol. Not a new stimulus. Viren would go to Colombia and train at 9k before the Olympics.
  • Remember when he fell on his way to the national title last year? This guy just doesn’t believe in failure
  • No John It's the coaching, Hocker even said he up his training in the hills and lactate testing etc. Thats coaching most don't get in other countries.

I do not agree with your statement on the effect of shoes. It definitely takes away from the training that these athletes do.
