Hi Michelle. I am also taking Whitney’s sewing class. I look forward to seeing your makes😊. Congrats on the weight loss❤
  • Dogs are great for meeting people. You have a lot of sewing plans my friend
  • OMG if my life could be stable enough to be boring, I'd be so happy. I LOVE that your meeting your neighbors! ❤❤
  • @AndraMakes
Can’t wait to see what you wear to the wedding! 🤩💗
  • @granjan252
OMG, I love the April dress and I love it on you! I think the style is very appropriate for a wedding. Hope your refitting project goes well this weekend. Nothing like a looming deadline to get us going….
  • @TheEvie202
I too love the rotary cutter always more precise than scissors. For notches or hand issues try the Fiscars with the spring hinges, very comfortable.
  • Good luck with the re-fitting of those dresses - they are gorgeous! But I think having the Charlie as a back-up plan is a good idea. That dress looks amazing on you and I’m sure in a beautiful flowy rayon, it’ll be perfect for a wedding! Can’t wait to see what you end up making! 💞

Agree about the rotary cutter giving a quicker precise cut. I love your color choices always. Happy to see you smiling about meeting new friends& neighbors. Sure hope you get your dress for the wedding all figured out. Let us know how the fitting techniques work? I generally stick with stretch fabrics because wovens are so difficult to tweak the fit. Great video.

I love that second dress it looks amazing on you even though it’s too big😂
  • @Cat-dw3wi
Good to know on the elodie, and thanks for giving precise reasons so I can look out for the sleeves wrap combo. They keep recommending wraps or people with weight changes, but if you don't feel good in it, what does it matter that you can cinch the waist
  • Oh how I wish I had done a fit muslin for the Elodie - I too planned to wear it to a wedding next weekend! Beautiful fabric purchased, cut out - made bodice realized I needed to add to the length of bodice ( as I always do, but got a bit excited!) purchased more fabric, completed dress, put it on and felt like a house - or like I was wearing a robe! Le sigh. I agree with your assessment about it being problematic for us busty gals! I was pretty discouraged! Unlike you I don't have any options in my closet, so have purchased a ready to wear, that I feel good in (except when I think about the cost for a VERY simple POLYESTER!! dress) 😔 Look forward to seeing the refashions - I love the pink and orange!! : )
  • Hi Michelle, congrats on the weight loss. I know how difficult that journey is. You look great either way. I hope you feel great too. I am left-handed which means that scissors even left-handed scissors are not really built for me. I have discovered Martinelli rotary cutters. They have a completely different shape and the hand placement is different. Looking forward to seeing your little girl dresses. Happy sewing.❤🧵🧵
  • What a bummer re the Elodie! Thank goodness you have back-ups and I can't wait to see which you decide on, because they're both beautiful. If I had to pick a fave, it'd be the Wildwood mainly because of the fabric, but also because it's still in alignment with your original vision of a wrap dress for the wedding. Regardless, both options are so lovely! I'm team rotary cutter! Those electric scissors scare me! I love that you're meeting your neighbours! I struggle with that kind of thing but sounds like everyone's new so you're not trying to break into an already established group...so high school! haha. Have fun!!!
  • I love the print on your top. I'm excited to see the outcomes of the adjustments and possible new make. There are different types of rotary cutters that might work better for you if that's your preference. The electric Scissors scare me and I've watch a few bloggers that use them and I don't think the cut is as clean.
